The Promise Of The Resurrected Word, by mr. bill
(Library of Congress Copy)
An opening thought: “I was sold a used car once; the next time I paid better attention!” We are
surrounded by disinformation, to sell us down the road. We need the truth.

- Greeting: Recommended companion version: New King James Version*
Greetings, all who are seekers of truth, and true life; it has be a bit difficult to find in these
late days. We have been making the efforts to grasp it, and it often seems to slip through our
fingers, like dry sand. Now we are even looking through the inner rooms of tombs, and out into
the stars, but the answers still seem to elude us. No one is able to find peace, nor brotherhood.
Our children openly worry, and rightfully so; they see a planet nearly destroyed, and obviously
headed for some serious times, in a raging hurry. And they see no social or familial stability to
guide them; they are quite literally thrown to the wolves.
Most concerned people want to understand, but they do not know what to do. No one knows
where to begin, or even what is causing all these very real and undeniable problems. Well, my
friends, this is indeed a great day, because some answers are finally coming to us. This is a gift
of kindness, in this day of dire need, from a Kind God Who has long waited for this day. This
gift is for any and all who wish to reach out and lay hold of it, who desire life rather than this
death march mankind has been walking for some time now. Wars, racism, religions battling
religions, political power moves, and nothing but corruption everywhere we turn: we definitely
need some help.
This study will cover some of the issues we need to understand, so as to break out of the
darkness we see around us now, and into the light of better answers and ways. It is true that there
are some issues common to us all. And, then there are certain issues specific to each group.
Specific issues facing the people of the deposed Hawaiian Kingdom are necessarily going to be
somewhat different than those for the gangs of New York. The Japanese seeker, looking over the
history of his nation’s choices is going to face different issues from the Muslims and Hindus
fighting in India. The peasant worker and part time soldier in Guatemala will find issues
different from a secretary attending the Church of England in London. The African soldier
returning from wiping out the latest village may face similar issues to the Bosnian man sitting at
his dinner table looking in wonder at what is left of his once robust family. It is the duty of each
group to gain enough understanding to diligently seek out their specific issues, and to deal with
them in truth and fullness, as we all try to better understand what has happened to us, and what
3
we can do about it now, this very day. All the while, though, we must remember that we were
always supposed to be a brotherhood of man, and not just hate one another because of our
differences and struggles.
It is hard to say how many will be able to see this long hidden understanding. There was one
scene in Rev 5 that mentions numbers in hundreds of millions may be there, whether only angels
or men it is hard to say. Some have insisted the number 144,000. The main reference in
Scriptures is “Remnant.” That means a small portion of the whole of mankind. Whatever it is,
there will be a whole lot who still will not see a thing. The difference in this Remnant will be
how they deal with this awakening of Scriptures: will they hear the call this time? Or will they
yet again reject God’s Word for their lives? This day will be different, though; this time the
promised day of kindness begins.
Throughout the years people have come to the conclusion that Scriptures are to be interpreted;
they see some as better at interpretations than others. This is not at all true: God spoke, and He
had carefully planned, precise intent when He did. Consider the precision of description of the
crucifixion of the Christ, long before Rome was even on the scene, recorded in Isaiah 53. It is so
perfect that it completely stuns. That is the power and precision of God’s Word, when it is alive.
But, since it has been dead so long, many have come to the conclusion that it is powerless, with
no definitive guiding light in it, so they are even debating it now. Because they are not able to
see what is in the words, all kinds of teachers have come up with all sorts of interpretations. That
is not really my task. What has been given to me is simply a training of my dull eyes, so that I
can even see what He has written to us all. I just point it out. People will then just read it for
themselves, and respond as they will.
I did not write the Word: He did. I am not allowed to add one thing to it, nor take away
anything. He simply taught me how to read, and allowed my mind the wherewithal to
understand. It is all His design, His time, His statement. This day this Scripture is fulfilled:
Isa 48:6-8
6 "You have heard;
See all this.
And will you not declare it?
I have made you hear new things from this time,
Even hidden things, and you did not know them.
7 They are created now and not from the beginning;
And before this day you have not heard them,
Lest you should say, 'Of course I knew them.'
8 Surely you did not hear,
Surely you did not know;
Surely from long ago your ear was not opened.
For I knew that you would deal very treacherously,
And were called a transgressor from the womb. NKJV™
He could not allow me to see this light in the Word before today, because I would have dealt
treacherously with it, with Him. It shames me to realize that characteristic was built into my
nature until He literally burned it out of my being. It really hurt; but now we are here, Amen.
All thanks and praise be to the One God of the brotherhood of man, for His undeserved
4
kindness to us this day.
Preface: third edit 4-4-07
The purpose of this book is to assist people to learn how to understand the language and style
of Scriptures of the Bible. As such, it also will assist to better understand current world events,
how we came to this point in history, and some potential thoughts for how to deal with the near
future. Truly, Scriptures cannot be broken: they really do control all we see around us, if we can
just learn to correctly read them with understanding. And, they are far more accurate than
anyone ever dreamed.
The problem with our past approaches to study of Scriptures was that the proper technique
and understanding was held away from us, for reasons we will cover in this book. There have
always been some very serious students of Scriptures over the ages, and that study was normally
not useless. But, it was without fullness of truth, because it’s depth of intended meaning could
not be drawn out; it was held away from us. Without that full understanding in place, we often
saw more harm than good come out of religious efforts throughout the ages, and even raging in
wars to this very day.
Luke 11:52; "Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not
enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered." NKJV™
For a long time now in general no one could enter into a true relationship with God and
survive because this key to understanding has been out of reach. In fact, through powerful forces
most of us do not even know exist, there was no way to find that key; we had to await the
acceptable time. Thanks to the kind mercies of our God, that time has come, and the keys to the
knowledge and understanding necessary to correctly make choices are being revealed.
Matt 16:19
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will
be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." NKJV™
We were being given the keys long ago; but we killed the Prince of Peace, and those keys
were lost until now. This book will attempt to explain that the above Scripture was also a
prophecy, and that this is the day that it spoke about, the day the keys are being again handed to
us, so that people will be able to make a choice that is acceptable to God. You will also discover
an amazing truth: these “decisions” for God in recent years have not been acceptable, for reasons
we could not even understand.
In fact, the people of God, those who have tried to make that choice to live life with Him, and
in His ways, have been in a protracted war with God. The entire planet is nearly destroyed
because of that war. There is no peace, nor could there be, as long as He will not accept our
defiled efforts; if He does not accept them, then that is all there is to it; but it is for reasons we
never even knew existed. All of this is true even though this information has long been written,
and is right before our eyes in the Bible. But, we could not read it correctly simply because we
5
did not have these keys, and there was no way to get them until now. All thanks and praise be to
God, that He has chosen this day to have mercy on us, and allow us to learn these keys of
understanding and knowledge.
Though there are a lot of passages opened up in this effort, it is far from an exhaustive study.
There is no way this book is able to properly study all of Scriptures; that is a huge project.
Instead, this is designed to train the readers to learn how to understand this language themselves,
so that they too can study what God is speaking in them, and find it for themselves. Some are
stronger at understanding; we are all made differently. And, by design, the stronger are to help
the weaker in this understanding; it is the plan of God.
These lessons have a developmental order not unlike the grades of standard school, so they
may at times be tedious for some. But, we all know that a child does not normally do well
walking first into calculus class; they must begin with one plus one, and move up from there. It
will take a little effort, with some repetitions; but it is a skill we can learn; it is a skill we must
learn. It is the art of understanding the language of God; obviously, it will be a little bit involved.
So, give it the chance it needs, and read it to the end.
There may come moments of misunderstanding, or even offense. Try to work past these
moments; after all, we have centuries of disinformation and injury already in place. It is going to
take a little work to get through some of these issues. But, there is a group waiting for this
publication; they have been waiting a long time. They come from all walks, all kinds of groups
and religions. They are literally scattered to every corner of the farthest parts of the earth. They
will read these lessons, and begin to understand, and step out onto this great Highway being
prepared for them.
Dan 12:10
10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none
of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. NKJV™
To further complicate this study, the writer is less than stellar in abilities. This work has been
quite overwhelming, way, way beyond his weak reach. Yet, it is a work that had to be done, even
if it is not all that cleanly produced. Indeed, sometimes the birthing room can be a bloody mess;
but with a little effort and cleaning up there comes that wonder beyond compare, with that
newborn. Hopefully all readers will also have such patient expectations, and help a little with the
efforts in cleanup.
And, what an incredible day is being born to us, as these passages burst open their dawning
light! All thanks be to the true Author of this day of kindness, wonder, and great hope, the One
God of all mankind.
-------------------------------------------
1.) Rejection of God’s Word Is What This Is All About.
6
Before anything else is developed, we lay this premise down: A long time ago there was a
little scene that went down, in a place called the Garden of Eden. What happened in those
concise few passages may have represented a larger story, more involved; maybe this is a
condensed version. Maybe what we read was all there was to it. But, it really is not hugely
important either way, because what is said there tells us volumes. In reality, what went down
there is the reason for the history of man: the bad, and the ugly; there was no real good. By the
time we have finished this study, and the practice there of, we will more fully understand just
how much that little prophetic play was, is and always will be everything. In essence, and simply
put, we have always, til this very day, rejected God’s Word, with extremely rare exception. It is
the story of mankind. Some of us, this day, will begin to change that.
John 14:21
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves
Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." NKJV™
Matt 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your
Father in heaven. NKJV™
That was the concept; this is the reality:
Jer 5:1-2
1 "Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem;
See now and know;
And seek in her open places
If you can find a man,
If there is anyone who executes judgment,
Who seeks the truth,
And I will pardon her.
2 Though they say, 'As the LORD lives,'
Surely they swear falsely." NKJV™
Num 11:6; “but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before
our eyes!" NKJV™.
Fairly emphatic disgust for the Word. This day He is going to do something about it; will we
believe it this time, or just reject it again? The remnant will believe: this is the day of the
Resurrected Word. But, let’s take it a step at a time.
2.) Who Is Lord?
This is the question all men must be free to choose. Is He One God, or not? What does your
group, nation, or religion believe? What do you, the individual who will answer one day for that
choice, believe? Do we believe in the Lord Who died for the sins of the whole world some 2,000
years ago, or some other god? This is a choice we all are given to make, and declare. But, this
discussion and study is for training of those who will choose to believe in Him as Lord. (Joshua
7
24:15) When you are done with the study you will be able to make an informed decision.
3.) Who Is The Word?
John 1 lays it out fairly well for us, especially verses 1, 14. Read the chapter. Also notice the
phrases in this passage, from the first book of Kings:
1 Kings 19:9; “And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the
word of the LORD came to him, and He said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
NKJV™
He is called the Word of the Lord here, like he is called the Word in John 1.
4.) The Language of God: A Short Symbols Study.
In order to completely comprehend some of these passages about the Lord, we also need to
understand the fashion God chose to communicate with His people. This is short study, and not
nearly enough for many to get the hang of it. Therefore, there will be included further on another,
slightly longer study, for those who could use it to really get a grip on this vital understanding.
This shortened study begins simply enough that all can get a start.
Consider for instance, how the Lord speaks in John 10, where He goes on and on about sheep
(verses 1-30). Bet most of you just can’t wait till you get out there in that nice pasture, to nibble
on some of that tender grass! That one is easy enough, and all of us understand that we are not
sheep, but that it was only a symbol, referring to the true followers of God. But don’t miss this
point in all that simplicity: it is showing us the form God chose to speak with us. This is His
style throughout Scriptures, and we have missed the fullness of it all these years.
Fish was also another term the Lord often used as a symbol: see John 21:11. Sowing seeds was
another of His favorites (Matt 13). Most of us understand fairly well what He actually intended
as He spoke in such terms. But, let’s go a little further.
Consider this passage: John 8:12;
12 “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me
shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." NKJV™
Now look at Ps 119:105:
105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.” NKJV™
Isn’t Jesus simply saying that He is the Word?! And, conversely, looking to the Word of God
we see the light, personified in Jesus. That works well with what we have already learned, that
Jesus is the Word of the God.
So, when we come to this next symbol, what is God really communicating to His people with
this style of His?
John 6:48-51
48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This
is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the
living bread which came down from heaven.” NKJV™
8
Jesus clarified this symbol with this response to Satan, at His temptation:
Matt 4:4; “But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" NKJV™
Is not the Living Jesus, the Word of God, our life-giving bread? That manna that fell in the
wilderness, to that special group of people, was simply a symbol of the Word of God which also
came to those people; it was the physical, prophetic symbol representing the spiritual fullness,
found in the Word of the Living God, to His people.
John 6:32-35:
32 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from
heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is He who
comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
34 Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always."
35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and
he who believes in Me shall never thirst. NKJV™
Take note of this observation: what form of bread is He giving to them right here and now? Is
it not His words, explaining the Word of God, teaching them what was always there in
Scriptures; He brought the Word to life. Yet, He was not teaching anything that was not already
in that Word. One of His most used phrases was, “It is written...” (Matt 21:13; Luke 24:46; John
6:45). (See also Luke 2:47; Luke 4:36; Matt 7:28-29)
This leads us to one more serious point to notice in what Jesus was saying about the manna
the Jews ate in the wilderness; they died! This is a prophetic statement, and it blew right on by
our blind eyes; we never saw it. Though the Word was the bread of heaven (Ps 78:24), their
contempt for the commands of God made it death for them, not giving of eternal life. The Word
itself was perfect; but out contempt and rejection of God’s Law killed it. So, as they wandered in
the wilderness they continued to drop dead, one after another, until they were all gone but one:
Caleb. This is a really, really important prophecy, because it is about us, and this journey we are
now nearing the end of ourselves. And, this is why we were always dropping dead, and no one
could understand why. We could have had the life-giving Word long ago: but we killed Him.
And this is our story all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Our constant rejection of God’s
Word made it dead for us, and not alive with the fullness of the Spirit, embodied in that flesh
example of Jesus, before we killed Him too.
Another important symbol is adultery, especially about words. God uses symbols and styles
that come right out of our lives. He does that so that we can better understand what He is trying
communicate. Contrary to the teaching of some, God is not sexual with us {Matt 22:29-30}; but
we are, and relate deeply to our carnal lives. So, He uses that base understanding to
communicate the issues He wants us to understand; but we must transcend to His intended issue,
and not get stuck in the carnal tool He chose to use. And most often we will find that adultery,
and the pain and suffering caused to others when we fall into it, is usually relating to doctrines of
demons, words of another, and not from the One True God. To God it hurts Him just as much
as, and even more so, than what we can suffer when a spouse commits adultery. Consider this
passage:
Ezek 6:8-11
9
8 "Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the
nations, when you are scattered through the countries. 9 Then those of you who escape will
remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their
adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their
idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.
10 And they shall know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would bring this
calamity upon them."
11'Thus says the Lord GOD:"Pound your fists and stamp your feet, and say, 'Alas, for all the evil
abominations of the house of Israel. NKJV™ [He is just speaking our “language.”]
Now go all the way back and consider how much it may have hurt God when Adam and Eve
accepted those words of Satan over His own Words (Read Gen 3). Consider the feelings He
expresses in this passage: 1 Sam 8:6-8
7 And the LORD said to Samuel, "Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for
they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. 8
According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of
Egypt, even to this day — with which they have forsaken Me and served other gods — so they
are doing to you also.” NKJV™
A King rules by His Word, His Commands, His Precepts. When we reject those Commands,
we are really rejecting Him. We reject Him by rejecting His Word. See also John 15:14. But,
we have little problem turning to the words of others, any other.
Another symbol in many of the prophetic plays Jesus stages is that Peter usually represents
the Church; Matt 16:18
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the
gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” NKJV™
This is one we will see again. But, for now understand this fact: there is no way to understand
what God is saying to us until we get better at recognizing this symbolic language, complete with
tones and innuendo. It will take some practice, just like we are back in school; and we are.
5.) Prophetic Plays
The way the Scriptures are normally taught today, especially those about Jesus’ time here on
earth, is as life examples, ways to walk, how to conduct oneself, and to love one another. While
there is truth in most of this way of teaching, it is not fully developed to it’s intended purpose.
We must finish this understanding and see His examples and efforts as Prophetic. They are each
little prophecy plays, which speak to us today, the way things will be, by the prophetic power of
the Word of God.
The reason for this is that Jesus had another, very important title: Jesus was a Prophet:
John 9:17; “They said to the blind man again, "What do you say about Him because He opened
your eyes?"
10
He said,"He is a prophet." NKJV™
Rev 19:10b; “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." NKJV™
Do those words still apply? Matt 24:35; “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words
will by no means pass away.” NKJV™;
Matt 5:18; “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will
by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” NKJV™
A prophecy tells something before it is, and God’s power and ability to make it come to bear
backs it up, and makes it happen. It is a method of God, designed to glorify His Word, which no
man can deflect or alter; we do not have the power necessary to defeat God’s Word. It will be,
no matter what we try to do to stop it: even if we kill Him, God has the power to raise Him back
to life, and that is just what He did.
He is the One promised:
Deut 18:18
18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words
in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. NKJV™
So, to understand much of anything in Scriptures we must remember that Jesus worked not
only as Lord, but also mainly as Prophet. All things surrounding His time on earth were to be
firstly considered prophecies.
The Old Testament taught how to understand this, if we just took the time to really slow down
and gain the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Consider this next passage for instance,
while noting that the thing about this particular prophetic play is that God actually explains much
of what He is trying to communicate, in essence teaching us the language style He also uses
elsewhere. It is also prophetic; and the central theme is the perverted, actually defiled Word of
God. That is because man has polluted the Word with his own bile; that is the crud that tends to
come out of the inside of mankind. God really knows how to bring home a point; all we need to
do is to learn to read it. With His help we will: Ezek 4: 1-17:
1 "You also, son of man, take a clay tablet and lay it before you, and portray on it a city,
Jerusalem. 2 Lay siege against it, build a siege wall against it, and heap up a mound against it; set
camps against it also, and place battering rams against it all around. 3 Moreover take for yourself
an iron plate, and set it as an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face against it, and it
shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.
4 "Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it. According to the
number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity. 5 For I have laid on you the
years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days; so you
shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6 And when you have completed them, lie again on
your right side; then you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days. I have laid on
you a day for each year.
7 "Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem; your arm shall be uncovered,
and you shall prophesy against it. 8 And surely I will restrain you so that you cannot turn from
one side to another till you have ended the days of your siege.
9 "Also take for yourself wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt; put them into one vessel,
and make bread of them for yourself. During the number of days that you lie on your side, three
11
hundred and ninety days, you shall eat it. 10 And your food which you eat shall be by weight,
twenty shekels a day; from time to time you shall eat it. 11 You shall also drink water by
measure, one-sixth of a hin; from time to time you shall drink. 12 And you shall eat it as barley
cakes; and bake it using fuel of human waste in their sight."
13 Then the LORD said, "So shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the
Gentiles, where I will drive them."
14 So I said,"Ah, Lord GOD! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now; I have
never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has abominable flesh ever come into my
mouth."
15 Then He said to me, "See, I am giving you cow dung instead of human waste, and you shall
prepare your bread over it."
16 Moreover He said to me, "Son of man, surely I will cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem;
they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and with dread,
17 that they may lack bread and water, and be dismayed with one another, and waste away
because of their iniquity. NKJV™
Clearly, a prophet of God is actively acting out prophecies, every bit as much as when he says
it in words. The ultimate Prophet, Jesus, simply walked it out; we should have seen it, if we
would have allowed ourselves to be taught in passages like these. As a side note for other
understanding, be sure to learn how God often uses certain time frames to signify other times He
is really communicating, in this case days for years. Otherwise, it could take a prophet thousands
of years just to say something with his acting in the prophecy/play.
Also, do not miss the subtle nuances in His language; if He is saying it, then we should be
listening. Otherwise, we really do not get the fullness of His issues. Consider for example the
bread cakes the prophet was making. This is such a nutritious combination of grains that it is
sold even in health food stores to this day. Do you understand what God is speaking? His Word,
our bread of life, is very good for us. It is our bile, which we add to it, that defiles it so much. In
truth, if you eat it with that bile in it, you may get sick and die. We really need to get back to that
pure Word of Life.
6.) Jesus As A Prophet
With all that in mind, let’s return for a little bit more of Jesus, as a walking Prophet. As He
did all His things, He continually worked towards an end, when He would declare it finished:
John 19:30
30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He
gave up His spirit. NKJV™
He had a lot to speak out, actions to do; and they were not just to fulfill, but also to prophesy.
Again and again He is an Actor in the production He wrote, and is directing. He is everything in
this huge series of plays, and He is a Prophet. We must begin to search out what His Prophecies
spoke to us; they were for us. And we will get some real help this time:
John 14:26
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all
things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. NKJV™
12
There is no way to understand the testimonies of Jesus until we learn that basic fact: they were
prophetic. He is a Prophet. We will touch on this fact often through the rest of this study,
because we killed the Teacher of the Word with us, and He is finally coming back to us in the
fullness of the Spirit.
7.) The Glorification of His Word
This is what it is all about, my friends. And the reason for this display goes all the way back
to the beginning, in the Garden of Eden. In that little play we saw developing the entire event,
when we chose to reject God’s Word, His command about a given tree. There is a bit more to it,
for sure. But, the point is this: He set out a precept, a boundary for life set by His Words, and we
chose to disregard that Word (and in favor for the word of another, Satan in this case; see Gen.
3). This has always been about the rejection of God’s Word by His people. Time and again His
people want more of the world’s ways than is found in the ways of God. Truth is, we, the people
of God, tend to fall into contempt for His ways, because of our desires for the ways of darkness,
for the ways of that ‘other one,’ drawing us away from God. And, all the stories of the Old
Testament are just repeats of this endless cycle. Truly, Eccl 1:9 is right; there is nothing new
under the sun; what was before will be again. So, when we finally arrived at the main event 2000
years ago, and were face to face with the Living Word of God, needless to say, the people of God
rejected Him, even to the point of murder, so deep was that contempt. It was already written.
This is a story about the rejection of God’s Word, from beginning to end. So, He is going to
make a spectacle of man’s rejection of His Word, when He greatly glorifies it in all the earth.
That will be His Glory.
We will never get away from the power of His Word; it will never pass away.
Matt 5:18; “ For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will
by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” NKJV™
Matt 24:35; “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
NKJV™
8.) Trust the Lord; Trust the Word.
Do we trust the Lord? Therefore, do we trust the Word? Only in the Word will we find the
Way, just like in the Garden; it is our life. (Ps 4:5; Ps 119:42). It is where the answers will be
found.
John 14:24; “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is
not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.” NKJV™
-9.) A Return To The Study of Symbols
As I was working through the whole project, it became clear that it might be a better idea to
spend a bit more time on the study of the language style used in Scriptures. What may be needed
13
is just a few more examples, for the sake of practice.
It has real precedent that these things may need to be better explained. Consider this passage:
Matt 13:3-9
3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4
And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some
fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up
because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because
they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up
and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold,
some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" NKJV™
My own experience, while being trained to understand these things to a certain degree, is that
there are some who can quickly comprehend certain symbolic language, but not many. God has
provided those with that strength to help those who do not so easily see the meanings. Most
groups will have someone, at least one, who can explain this to the others: it is referred to as
discernment in one place:
Prov 2:3
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding, NKJV™ (see also Nehemiah 8:8)
This symbolic language is often referred to as parables in Scriptures:
Matt 13:10-13
10 “And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"
11 He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be
given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken
away from him. NKJV™
Read the passage closely; there is a purpose in this hidden meaning behind things, and so we
must master this art: it comes from God; it is His design. In fact, all that is created speaks a
language; but we are a long ways from understanding it all.
Rom 1:20
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood
by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without
excuse, NKJV™
It really can get very extensive in study, and many should walk down that path from time to
time. For now, though, consider the term parable to be very close to the term parallel. Most of
His choices of terms have quite similar, parallel concepts in different manifestations, spiritual
and carnal {physical},visible and invisible. Like with the seed, consider where you normally
plant seed, and then look at this, God talking to Adam after he fell:
Gen 3:19
19 “Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return." NKJV™
When you add water, the seed in that dust can sprout, and produce a crop. Many do not yet
14
know that the parallel term, the symbol, in Scriptures for the Holy Spirit is water. The seed is the
Word of God; when the Word is planted in a man, and then is filled with the Holy Spirit, it can
then come to life in power, and produce a crop. It is a phenomenal style God chose to
communicate, an art form of the highest method. He uses a physical, parallel concept to talk of a
spiritual end, the ultimate meaning. The flesh is passing away, and we are moving to the spirit.
We need to get better at learning it. Our goal should be to “hear” (understand) what He is
speaking, in fullness.
In another example think about what we use yeast for. In bread it causes it to expand, giving
it body to make it more palatable. Most people do not prefer unleavened bread on a regular
basis; too bland. In Scriptures bread is almost always used to represent the spiritually nourishing
qualities of the Word of God, His ways, the spiritual food for life.
Yeast is an additive we put into things, that changes them to be more of what we want.
Sometimes those changes are not necessarily so good. This can be especially true when we are
dealing with the Word of God, because it already began perfect. Our changes can take away
from that perfection. Consider this passage before we go on:
Rev 22:18-19
18 “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to
these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes
away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of
Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. NKJV™
Consider this discussion of the meaning of leaven, clarified by the Lord for us:
Matt 16:5-12
5 “Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then
Jesus said to them, "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees."
7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "It is because we have taken no bread."
8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, "O you of little faith, why do you reason among
yourselves because you have brought no bread? 9 Do you not yet understand, or remember the
five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? 10 Nor the seven loaves of
the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up? 11 How is it you do not understand
that I did not speak to you concerning bread? — but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and
Sadducees." 12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread,
but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. NKJV™
Even as we consider the yeast of the Pharisees, which are their doctrines added to the Word of
God, we also touch on another item in this passage: the feeding of many from only a little bit of
food. Consider what it is when the Living Lord breaks open the Word, to explain it to the
masses; are we not all fed, and well! Of course, He is also saying here that we do not need to
worry about the carnal; He is able to supply those base needs. But, He is really encouraging them
to begin to understand the spiritual content of the Word, and His words, to the fullest.
Moving on, though, let us now consider yeast added to grapes, producing wine, and alcohol.
First look at this passage: Rev 14:14-20
14 “Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man,
having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came
15
out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud,"Thrust in Your sickle
and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 16 So He
who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud
cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying,"Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of
the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe." 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth
and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20
And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the
horses' bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs. NKJV™ (see also Is 5)
An interesting side note on this passage would be to consider the symbolic jockeying of terms,
and that the Lord used wine to represent His Own Blood. Taking His Living presence out of the
Word makes us stagger on our path. Curious possibilities.
Now consider this passage, in view of the statement of Christ about the doctrines of the
Pharisees, and go all the way back to the Garden of Eden, when we preferred the “yeast” doctrine
of Satan, the father of lies: Isa 51:17
17 Awake, awake!
Stand up, O Jerusalem,
You who have drunk at the hand of the LORD
The cup of His fury;
You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling,
And drained it out. NKJV™ (see also John 8:44)
All this time we have been taking a beating from these false doctrines, and one day it comes to
an end; this is that day, amen! And, as you consider how God picked such wording, think also
about what it is like when drunk: our paths are crooked, and we stumble easily. We can’t walk a
truly straight, righteous line following false doctrines. That is also what was meant when this
prophetic passage was set forth: Isa 40:3-8
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
"Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
5 The glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
6 The voice said, "Cry out!"
And he said, "What shall I cry?"
"All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades,
16
Because the breath of the LORD blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever." NKJV™
So, while at times it is necessary for those with discernment to help others to understand, it is
also vital to master the practice without inadvertently adding yeast, altering the Word. I will try
to get better at simply pointing out the symbols, what they are representing at a particular
location. In the meantime, hopefully many will begin to awaken to the wonders of the
Resurrected Word, and begin to see and hear what was always written. It has been hidden there,
waiting for us this day.
Another angle of that discussion Jesus had with His disciples was how they were stuck behind
the carnal interpretations of bread and yeast. It is true that they had actually witnessed that
miracle of the feeding of thousands; it did happen, physically. But they were stuck behind the
physical version, and not breaking through to the spiritual. This is the story of the dead word, in
all our studies up until now. That statement of His was actually a prophetic play, for today; His
comment of “little faith” is really about us, stuck, unable to understand the spiritual light of His
words. This is the reason many people, from many different groups, throughout the years, have
taken carnal steps against their brothers, when not led to do so by God. They see the huge armies
of some of these prophetic plays go out and wipe out other armies in the stories of Scriptures;
and they go to do the same, not even realizing God’s full intent, His ultimate intent. He was
speaking the only language we knew, carnal, such as our violent or adulterous ways, but to mean
what He wanted to communicate, in the spiritual. His ultimate sword is not steel: it is the Word;
look at this prophetic symbol:
Rev 19:15
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He
Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and
wrath of Almighty God.” NKJV™
What comes out of His mouth is obviously His Word, even though not called that. Symbols:
there’s lots and lots of symbols to learn, in this most fascinating art of language He uses.
One more thing about that leaven in the Word should be looked at for this study. There is a
special feast, which is part of the Passover; it is called the feast of unleavened bread. The people
of God are to begin that after the Passover Lamb is killed; for seven days no yeast. If we begin to
understand all that is written in more symbolic terms, then we might consider even seven days to
be maybe other terms, like seven years, or just the perfect time needed. Even if we each year set
apart seven actual days to God at this feast, they may represent another event quite important to
Him; or possibly even 7,000 years. The taking of unleavened bread is just the straight Word of
God, and not all gussied up, as some preachers like to do: one short passage, and an hour of
talking. It often ends up being filled with a lot of hot air, just like fresh baked bread, yeast risen.
This time of unleavened bread is a big deal to God, and a vital part of the Passover. As we study
all this language form, and all that has been going on, we are going to get extremely grounded in
our understanding, through the power of this Word, finally coming alive. And the beauty of His
17
Word is simply beyond human description.
Understanding times is particularly tough with God, because He causes these things to happen
more than once, and most often as they progress from the carnal, to a blend, and on to their
ultimate version of the spiritual, even with all kinds of combinations. For instance, even as Jesus
did actually heal men of their carnally blind eyes, He was also actively healing their dull spiritual
eyes at the same time. Both are actual events most students currently understand. So, what if, in
these days to come, those passages will again come in powerful healing displays on this earth,
but this time with little or no carnal versions for outward observations. This is a real possibility,
and thus will be missed by the masses, for the most part. Maybe only those enlightened in
spiritual observations will witness them. But, the point remains that it will happen, and
dramatically, because this is a prophetic play when He does such healings. And, we may not
know when exactly, by design:
Rev 16:15
15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief...” NKJV™ [the Lord’s own words]
Times are also difficult for another reason:
Matt 24:22
22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those
days will be shortened. NKJV™
Though this is a blessing of kindness, it also keeps us always watching, since we are not sure
just when He will come, even though it will still be within some form of parameters. As we
study the Cross in days to come, we will see that one item of shortened time come to bear.
All Scriptures should be considered in view of potential symbolic meanings. Let’s take a look
at a special one from the time of David as an example of this concept. But first, set the stage of
understanding by considering this passage:
Ex 20:25
25 And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your
tool on it, you have profaned it. NKJV™
This is much like the yeast concept; what God has made perfect ends up defiled as soon as
man tries to make adjustments to it. Now look at this Scriptural concept:
1 Peter 2:4-6
4 “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the
Scripture,
"Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame." NKJV™
Please note the word “acceptable” in that Scripture. Also note, in this passage Peter is
actually freely drawing on the symbolism of Scriptures. Now we begin to wonder just what God
was saying back there in Exodus, about that alter of undefiled stones. So, finally, with those
threads of cloth beginning to come together to form the fabric, and the full picture begins to take
shape (itself a Scriptural symbolic discussion), consider this one:
18
1 Sam 17:40-49
40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the
brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand.
And he drew near to the Philistine. 41 So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David,
and the man who bore the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about and
saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43 So the
Philistine said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?" And the Philistine
cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, and I will give your
flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!"
45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a
javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike
you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the
Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that
there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with
sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's, and He will give you into our hands."
48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David
hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag
and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone
sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.” NKJV™
Interesting: we were just before talking about the Lord not using sword and spear (verse 47) in
the ultimate, spiritual sense, and even as symbolic David is symbolically in battle. Real battles,
but symbols all. And, what about that little stone? Where did David, with staff in hand, pick it
from initially? It had been in a streambed, being honed by the flowing water, which we have
already noted was a symbol of the Holy Spirit. It takes time to hone a rock with water, in a
stream. Lots of nuances to consider, all carefully chosen in His style of language.
Consider God’s choice of terms and symbols, as we think of our part in the future of events.
How much action was that little stone doing? It was doing nothing, other than staying still in that
continual washing of the Spirit, through the Word (see also Eph 5:26, John 14:26; Ps 46:10; Zech
4:6). This little man of God is just along for the ride, and that only because he did not rebel, and
leave the stream, like rolling stones tend to do. It is David, staff in hand, symbol of the official
emissary Shepherd/King, that fires that little stone to take down the giant so many feared. These
are big symbols, and very important prophetic plays; they control all of God’s plan; we just never
could read them until He allowed us to, this day. As we learn more about His plan in all this, one
good thing to never forget again: Scripture cannot be broken, it is absolute. We just need to
understand how He is going to manifest it, to get our Spiritual eyesight back.
One more example will round this out, and help to bring our eyes into focus. Let’s look at a
prophetic play that Elijah was in, and consider some of the symbols in terms of today:
1 Kings 17:1-7
1 “And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab,"As the LORD God of
Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word."
2 Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 3 "Get away from here and turn eastward,
and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 4 And it will be that you shall drink
19
from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there."
5 So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and stayed by the Brook
Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning,
and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. 7 And it happened after a while
that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. NKJV™
In this prophetic play we see a servant of God sent to confront King Ahab, who has veered
from truth. This day today there are many leaders, rulers, corporation heads, priests, or the like
who might fulfill the concept of being a wayward king (leadership). The symbol represents
leadership gone astray. Just how God will do it, and how often He will, is yet to be seen. But
this is one we may see many times, in many different forms; and this Word will be exactly
accurate. That is the power of God’s Word, and He glories in it.
What about those birds bringing food to Elijah; what form will they be? First we must realize
that in this case, the physical “play” that God directed, there were actual birds bringing food to
Elijah. But, that is not the fullness of the prophecy, and most likely it would be fulfilled today
with some person of the world providing for Elijah, someone who could be spiritually considered
in like manner a bird. While I have not been given all the answers in all these matters, we do
have much to consider. For instance, think about Noah’s ark, and the animals on board, of many
types. God’s plan, the ultimate design, is for man. He may care about all life, but this big play is
far more about man, the souls of man, and His statements about it all (see also Ps 102:7; Matt
10:31). So, the animals on board the ark are also symbols of the peoples He will one day provide
safe passage for; divergent people, of all types, through the judgment to come on this planet soon
enough. So, what kind of a person would resemble a raven may be open for discussion; but I
know this one fact: the Scriptures are precise, and it will be as written. God has the ability to
again use a bird, or a person that figuratively resembles this scene precisely. It is just like all
great plays are written: the props all mean something significant, and there are often many good
possibilities (see also Deut 32:11-12; Ezekiel 17).
So, let’s move on to a huge “play” that may tell us the reason for this life; but we won’t need
to go up to some guy with a beard on a mountain top to ask. We will begin in the example
Daniel set out for our enlightenment:
Dan 1:3-5
3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of
Israel and some of the king's descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there
was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to
understand, who had ability to serve in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the
language and literature of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of
the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that
at the end of that time they might serve before the king.” NKJV™
In this prophetic play we actually see laid out for us precisely what we are doing right here, in
this document: training in the language and literature of the King: isn’t that amazing! But, this is
a story of choices, as we will find out, even though these symbolic young men in question are
currently captive in the great production of the Lord. Look closely at what is up for grabs, my
friends. Some may not opt for this chance but consider this: what is really being placed before us
is an opportunity to serve before the King. Further reading in the book of Daniel would reveal
20
that this is supposed to be the greatest king of them all, the head of gold. But, what is really
before us all is the chance to be in heaven, with the King of Kings. Now, there may be some who
believe that they don’t want that “job.” I personally believe that is a very foolish thing; it just
does not get any better than His Throne Room. But, there are some who just want to be “free.”
Of course, I believe that “freedom” is only to be enslaved to the other one, the not so nice guy.
Anyway, what is happening to Daniel and his friends here is that they are being prepared for
presentation one day before the King. It is a picture of you and me, and all of us; and one day we
will arrive at that day of judgment. Hopefully, we will have gained some of that training He
expects us to reflect, even through some of these studies right here.
Now let’s consider a particular play further along in this book of Daniel, and examine the
symbol of a tree:
Dan 4:20-27
20 "The tree that you saw, which grew and became strong, whose height reached to the heavens
and which could be seen by all the earth, 21 whose leaves were lovely and its fruit abundant, in
which was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and in whose branches the birds
of the heaven had their home — 22 it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong; for
your greatness has grown and reaches to the heavens, and your dominion to the end of the earth.
23 "And inasmuch as the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying,
'Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump and roots in the earth, bound with a band
of iron and bronze in the tender grass of the field; let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let
him graze with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him'; 24 this is the interpretation,
O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: 25 They
shall drive you from men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make
you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass
over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to
whomever He chooses.
26 "And inasmuch as they gave the command to leave the stump and roots of the tree, your
kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules. 27 Therefore, O
king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being righteous, and your
iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity."
NKJV™
Obviously there is a lot in this one; and we have a great assist in understanding, as Daniel is
explaining what these symbols mean, one after another. And, did you notice the symbol of birds
in the branches?! The people of his kingdom prosper in his shadow. I didn’t write this: I am just
pointing at it. Take time to read the whole thing, and learn some of what these things in the
Language of God mean; but for our discussion I want to focus on the tree symbol: it is this king,
symbolically displayed, with all the little considerations included, plainly laid out for us to see,
and maybe even to understand why God chose to use this symbol to assist our comprehension of
the invisible.
So, with that understanding in mind, let’s go look at another tree: Gen 3:22
22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and
evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"
NKJV™
21
Who do you think this particular tree might be? Some may already realize that this is a
symbol of our Lord, who is our Life. That is, if we choose Him. This is actually a great play
itself, and reflects both prophecy and history. The history part was this: in heaven an insurrection
occurred, when one of God’s cherubim decided to usurp His position, and be god himself.
Evidently, it was a persuasive argument, because one third of all the angels sided with Satan (see
Rev 12:4). In fact, man has started out on the wrong foot too, and we have quite a bit at stake
here: our eternal souls. (See also Ezekiel 31)
My friends: God is so very kind to us, yet He is also quite serious about this. And, here is
what is going on. We have a choice to make. But, fortunately for us, God would prefer that to
be an informed choice, rather than just not really knowing (Luke 23:34). So, we get an
opportunity to experience the differences, to see if His ways are good, or are those of the “other
one” better? After having become better informed, we choose, as we go along this road of life.
But, know this: the universe is the house of God; if you do not want to be with Him, then you
won’t be here; at least not in a pleasant sense. I’ve read the Book, and I believe it; it doesn’t
work out too well for Satan, and his buddies; if you eat from that tree you will surely die.
Believe whatever you want; but this is the truth: God is very, very real. And, this is a very real
choice for us all. And, if we want to be with Him, then we need to begin the training, and the
sooner the better. Here are a couple of additional thoughts, that fit into some of the above study:
Zech 4:6-7
"This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,'
Says the LORD of hosts.
7'Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'" NKJV™ (see also Daniel 2:35)
Will a physical mountain be blown down this day? Will a spiritual mountain be blown down?
We need to get on the road to find out; and be sure to note: not by might, nor by power, but by
My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. It is written.
Ps 46:8-10
8 Come, behold the works of the LORD,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth! NKJV™
Rev 11:8
8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom
and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. NKJV™
22
Where was our Lord crucified?! We have to learn to read the Word of God.
-10.) We Are Captive, But Blind To It.
The Word has been closed up for a long time. We killed the Word when we rejected Him.
God has the power to screen our minds so that we cannot see, nor hear with understanding. That
is what He did because we did not esteem those amazing and wonderful words, personified in
Jesus the Christ. So we have been wandering in darkness, not able to understand what is really
the truth. But there comes a day when the Lord has mercy on us; this will be a day of rejoicing.
What we do not understand is that we are captive, enslaved by forces we cannot even see.
There is an opponent whose desire is to have us condemned, and eternally killed. But, that is not
God’s heart, Who wants us to return to Him, get cleaned up, and bless us. But, we need to take a
moment to see what was always written, and come to a true belief in the Power of the Word that
was there, right before our eyes, all this time. Consider:
Matt 13:13-17
13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not
hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:
'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.'
16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to
you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to
hear what you hear, and did not hear it. NKJV™ (see also Rom 1:28-32; Luke 24:16, 31; Isaiah
6:9 and on; read it! Is 42:19; Is 59:10).
But, in the Prophetic play recorded here in Matt 13 we see that there comes a time when the
eyes of the little ones are opened; it was a prophetic statement He was making. When we denied
the King, God vehemently closed it back down, to send us out to wander in darkness, in the
wilderness. So, over the years since others have spent themselves trying to open those same
words; but the power of God’s hand against all has prevented the opening of our understanding
until now (see also Rev 3:7). Indeed, this will be a great day, as the eyes of the remnant will be
opened.
Even so, it will not be for us, but rather for His Namesake; we must remember that fact. This
is to glorify the Son, The Word of God, in all the earth. It was promised by God; but we were
too blind to see what was right before our eyes. We will come back to this thought, though.
Most insist that back then, as Christ did those Prophetic plays, that the eyes were opened
finally, and the kingdom began. This is not true, not the full kingdom of light: it could have, but
23
we killed the King. Look at the fruit, and anyone can clearly see that the tree is not the right one.
The Christian way fell so hard that the next era in the history of man is known as the Dark Ages;
it was not the kingdom of light. We could argue this forever, but it is a historical fact: go look
for yourself at the history of the Church; it is gruesome indeed. It is not there was never any
bright moment at all; but nothing like when He came and lit those people up.
But it was also written; this was always going to be the case, and we were told so. We just
could not see it, understand it; and for sure no one would want to believe it. But now, this is the
age that the Lord has come to assist us in understanding, just as pictured in the play above; it was
a Prophecy of this day we now are in. He took the time to help His disciples to comprehend what
was always written, and what was unfolding before the eyes. That is exactly what is happening
right now, in our presence. And that is also the power of God’s Word: He set it out as a
prophecy, and that is precisely what is happening today. But, just like in the play above, only a
certain group of people will be able to “see” it, even though many heard those words. Only the
remnant will have their minds opened enough to comprehend it fully, in a lasting manner, in a
manner of true faith. In a manner of seed being sown in good soil. The real, life-giving Word of
God, coming to those ready to receive, in prepared soil, to finally produce a true crop.
It is true, the soil must be made ready, no less than when planting; removing rocks, pulling
weeds, tilling, having water. When all the preparations are made, and the seed is set in such a
soil, would you not expect it to produce? That is what this document is all about.
There is a simple cornerstone of understanding that must be in place before the rest of the
discussion will make sense: This whole thing is about the Word of God, and our rejection of it,
and His glorification of it in spite of us. This will be the bottom line, and in this we will either
choose life, or we will choose death. Interestingly enough, Jesus Christ is the Word of God.
11.)Words Sealed; Until We Are Powerless (Captive).
These are the Words of the Almighty, spoken to John, in Revelations:
Rev 3:7-8
"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,
'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the key of David, He who opens
and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens": 8 "I know your works. See, I have set before you
an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have
not denied My name.” NKJV™
He has the power; and He uses it to glorify His great Name. Amen!
There are many who would argue that the Word has not been sealed all this time. Not only is
it obvious from the fruit that the tree is bad, but there is another reason we cannot help but
believe the Word has been sealed all this time: Scriptures told us it would be so, and we cannot
break the power of God in His Word. He is making sure of that. Let’s look at some.
In John 9 we find a Prophetic play about a blind man, and the promise to come that he would
be healed; it was for the glory of God that it would happen. But, in the face of it all the
24
leadership of the religious group of the day refused to believe that they were blind:
John 9:40:
40 “Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, "Are
we blind also?" NKJV™
All this was meant to be is a prophecy for us today; and it hits right on. No one sees it
because it is quite difficult to see spiritual blindness; it is invisible. Truly seeing is believing, or
as in this case, not seeing is not believing. That is because we have rejected the Word of God.
Just like the Pharisees raged when Jesus pointed out their fallen nature as laid out in the Word, so
it is this day. No leaders believe that these words are on them. But, even before these prophecy
plays were acted out by Jesus and the entourage, “it is written.” He was just acting it out what
was already there, in the Word long before.
Most would agree we await the revealing of the “remnant people.” Some suggest that this has
already come; but that is not the truth, and all that will become more apparent as this study
advances. Here is a prophecy, written for these issues even until that day they are brought out,
and finally exposed. And, note what it says about the length of this blindness: it will remain on
us until then! Period. Those who teach the Bible usually do not teach this one, not this way; this
is not us, right?!.
Isa 6:9-7:1
9 And He said, "Go, and tell this people:
'Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'
10 "Make the heart of this people dull,
And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes;
Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And return and be healed."
11 Then I said, "Lord, how long?"
And He answered:
"Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant,
The houses are without a man,
The land is utterly desolate,
12 The LORD has removed men far away,
And the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13 But yet a tenth will be in it,
And will return and be for consuming,
As a terebinth tree or as an oak,
Whose stump remains when it is cut down.
So the holy seed shall be its stump." NKJV™
Also consider what is said in this passage:
25
Isa 29:10-11
10 For the LORD has poured out on you
The spirit of deep sleep,
And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets;
And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.
11 The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men
deliver to one who is literate, saying, "Read this, please." And he says, "I cannot, for it is sealed."
NKJV™ (and finish chapter 29; the blind ones are promised to see in the end)
All these years we have read the words, but never understood the fullness, because of this
sealed condition on the Word; so the Word is mostly dead to us, and not full of the True Spirit of
Christ, the Spirit of prophecy (see also Rev 19:10). People have still been coming to belief in
God, throughout the religions of the world. But, inevitably failures would wipe out all the good
we had hoped for. Just look at the history of religions to this very day and tell me I am wrong.
Many people have just stopped even trying, because any normal person could easily see it’s dead
works. There was lots of rhetoric, and even running here and there, but little genuine power.
Jesus tried in vain to tell the people about this as we saw above in Matt 13 and other passages
we will look at; and in the end He was flatly rejected, being murdered on the cross. You can’t
have the righteous remnant start up the Kingdom, and crucify your King at the same time.
Christ, the Word of God, came to be rejected, to bring His bloodguilt on us all. But, let’s take it
a step at a time.
Turning to Daniel we see that he too was told about this sealing of the Word, until the end.
Having been shown the entire finish, right up to Judgment Day, Daniel then asked when it was
all going to go down. He was told two huge items; first the Words were sealed; and secondly the
indicator of timing was tied to our fallen condition, in full bondage:
Dan 7:21-22
21 "I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against
them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the
Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. NKJV™
Dan 12:4-7
4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run
to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
5 Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that
riverbank. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the
river,"How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?"
7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up
his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be
for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely
shattered, all these things shall be finished. NKJV™
Be sure to note: the power of the saints is totally blown down; we are captive, my friends, and
that is the truth.
There is a parallel prophecy which John received, and it notes something no churches want to
face easily:
26
Rev 13:7
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was
given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. NKJV™
Clearly, these saints are given over, as it was prophesied in Daniel.. And we see indicators all
around us, though we refuse to deal with it, so shameful would the true meaning be.
But, this has always been the plan of God; He wrote the plays. And, long ago it was already
written; check this passage out:
Deut 32:36
36 "For the LORD will judge His people
And have compassion on His servants,
When He sees that their power is gone,
And there is no one remaining, bond or free. NKJV™
How can anyone escape this one! This Prophecy comes due at the time of Judgment; that Day
has not yet come and gone on this earth.
The Lord does not come when we are all doing righteously, doing His will and all. He comes
when we are totally blown down, in bondage. He comes this day, because that is where we are,
right now. That’s what the Word says, anyway; what do you believe?! We just could never see
it, because He has sealed the Word until the Chosen One would come and open it, at the
acceptable time. That time was after Christ was gone, not when He was here. It wasn’t time yet.
Rev 5:1-6
1 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the
back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice,"Who is
worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under
the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.
5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root
of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."
6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the
midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, ... NKJV™
In this telling scene we clearly see the Lamb had already been slain. This is after the cross.
That is why they could not see it, nor truly take hold of Him yet. That is why not one man of
God said one word of intervention in behalf of the Word of God, as He stood before the world’s
court and Pilot. He had to be rejected completely first, especially by His own. And they could
not see it, because the Word was sealed, and not yet ready to be opened. And, we’re just getting
going..!
It is true that many shameful things have befallen mankind, and that the bloodguilt is on us
all; it is a crying thing, for sure. But, right in the middle of it all, God will dry our honest tears.
This is a day of good news, because the Scriptures are being opened in this age. The Word is
coming back to true life, today. Not years down the road, but right now, in this generation.
It’s just that it comes under a certain condition which makes it a little difficult: we are broken;
our power is all gone, and we are totally unable to make it on our own. That was the same
picture in the great play when Christ came, with Rome totally overpowering a fallen people of
27
God. It was the same picture in the Prophetic play in Egypt, as taskmasters enslaved the captive
people of God. It was the condition of Israel, and the people of God at the time of the great play
in Nehemiah, Ezra. But, because of the deep, lasting blindness issue we have such a hard time
seeing that it has come upon us this day too. We have fallen “victim” to the ultimate power of
God’s Word, as every knee is being bent, and every tongue will confess that Jesus, the Word of
God, is Lord.
Hopefully we are coming to understand the power of that Word, and how there was no way to
escape that grip. It does not totally remove our shame, but maybe this understanding will allow
us to go on to a better finish line. I sometimes wonder had Judas been properly taught about
what had been stacked against him, if maybe he would not have taken his own life in his deep
grief and shame. I wonder just how much mercy God will be willing to generate on that fateful
day we all face. I know I will need a lot, and I hope for it.
Do we trust the Lord? Therefore, do we trust the Word?! Only in the Word will we find the
Way, the path we must take this day.
12.) Why The Word Is Sealed: Contempt For The Word
There are several reasons along the way that the Word has been sealed against us, leaving us
powerless. But, it all comes down to one day, long ago, in a play we should wish we never got a
part in; it was in the Garden of Eden. In that scene we listened to the advice of a one who was
not our beloved Lord, and set aside our Lord’s advice, His Word. We may have even disdained
His Words; (there is a Scriptural support for such a conclusion). All of what we are caught up in
to this day has to do with what happened there, in that Garden so long ago. And, one thing we
will know without a doubt when all this is done: we cannot break Scripture; the entire universe
turns on the Word of God. We are so very foolish to think we could escape that power. We are
so very foolish to want to. (See also Is 30:8-12)
Let’s turn to a passage which says it directly, that we can know, though we should have
known anyway:
Ezek 20:16
16 because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My
Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols. NKJV™
And another:
Isa 5:24-25
Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts,
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Therefore the anger of the LORD is aroused against His people;
He has stretched out His hand against them
And stricken them,
And the hills trembled.
Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets.
28
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still. NKJV™
This passage has come already, and is still to come. That is because Jesus, Who is the Word
of God, is also the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end:
Rev 1:8; "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is
and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." NKJV™
This, again my friends, is what this is all about, and always was. When the Holy One of Israel
came the first time, we despised His words so much that we crucified Him to get rid of them.
That dawning Word, which could have begun the Kingdom of Light right then and there, was
slammed shut, and the next thing we knew we were trying to shake off the dizzying sleep of the
Dark Ages. We hardly knew what hit us; and none of us really couples the symptom to the true
cause. Israel was totally blown away. Christendom sank to a horrific state. And wars and
genocides rocked the entire earth for century after century.
The above passage from Isaiah 5 clearly states, for all eyes to see, why all the earth shakes, all
these years. It clarifies why peace has never been lasting on this earth. Why have all nations
ended up falling, nothing lasting, and justice is far from us. It is all because we rejected the
Word of the Lord. And any “teacher” who teaches God is love and therefore He could not be
totally angry with His people does not see the truth of our condition. Until the end of His
statements His arm of wrath remains outstretched. And only liars teach differently, wishfully.
We, our forefathers, the people of God, had promised to keep God’s Word, His laws and
precepts, follow His ways, and not to turn away from Him:
Ex 19:8
8 Then all the people answered together and said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do." So
Moses brought back the words of the people to the LORD. NKJV™
Matt 26:35
35 Peter said to Him, "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!"
And so said all the disciples. NKJV™
But, we are weak people and tend to falter quickly, and fail to keep our vows to the Lord.
Then we renew our vows, and try to commit to them again, and again:
Ex 32:8
8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made
themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said,'This is your god, O
Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!'" NKJV™
Josh 24:21-24
21 And the people said to Joshua, "No, but we will serve the LORD!"
22 So Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the
LORD for yourselves, to serve Him."
And they said, "We are witnesses!"
23 "Now therefore," he said, "put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your
heart to the LORD God of Israel."
29
24 And the people said to Joshua, "The LORD our God we will serve, and His voice we will
obey!" NKJV™
Yet another example:
1 Sam 8:7-8
7 And the LORD said to Samuel, "Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for
they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. 8
According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of
Egypt, even to this day — with which they have forsaken Me and served other gods — so they
are doing to you also.” NKJV™
Mark 14:27-31
Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is
written:
'I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep will be scattered.'
28 "But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee."
29 Peter said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be."
30 Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows
twice, you will deny Me three times."
31 But he spoke more vehemently, "If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!"
And they all said likewise. NKJV™
Think about this very carefully: we either agree with Jesus that we are the scattered disciples,
their lineage, or we stand with Peter in denial of the Words of Christ. No church that I know of
teaches that we, the people of God, are the scattered, captive people often referred to in
Scriptures. This has always been a story of God’s people: denying His Words, and today we are
no exception. But like the Pharisees of the time of Christ, we refuse to believe it. And, the
religions throughout the centuries have been killing anyone who dares say otherwise.
Consider also all of Ezekiel 20, especially this part: Ezek 20:42-44
43 And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled;
and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have
committed. 44 Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for My
name's sake, not according to your wicked ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of
Israel," says the Lord GOD.'" NKJV™
Be sure to note the phrase, “you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight... .”
-13.)Good News; But, There Are Terms
In spite of the difficulties of some of these issues, there comes a day of “Good News,” a day
of hope, when the Lord finally has mercy, and offers terms of peace: because it is written.
Period. They must be His terms, and not ours. And it will be for the sake of His Name, to His
honor, and not for us directly; we must know our shame. We rejected Him all these years, and
that is on us. Even so, He promised to be kind to us one day, and those promises are also within
30
that same Word we so vehemently rejected, even to the point of murder. All He was doing was
proclaiming the good news; we just did not like the terms. A cross can be scarey.
Ps 40:9-10
9 I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
O LORD, You Yourself know.
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly. NKJV™
This study is exactly that: the moment the Good News is being proclaimed. This is the day of
kindness, to all who will hear it. As we find ourselves completely powerless, and in total
captivity, He is going to glorify His Great Name, with great displays of Power; those displays
will be in the Word. The Word is being raised from the dead today. The Lord is offering terms
of peace. He will be opening our eyes to things which we never have been able to see before.
Matt 13:34-35
All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak
to them, 35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
"I will open My mouth in parables;
I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world." NKJV™
Consider this opening statement of a great prophetic prophecy of our history of rejecting His
Word. When we do have our eyes opened, we will see some dark things, which will necessarily
shame us:
Ps 78:1-2
1 Give ear, O my people, to my law;
Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings of old, NKJV™ (see also Acts 7:51-54)
Even so, we need to also look forward to the hope He has in His great promise of Kindness, as
He now sets forth terms for peace:
Isa 52:7-12
7 How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
"Your God reigns!"
8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices,
With their voices they shall sing together;
For they shall see eye to eye
31
When the LORD brings back Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together,
You waste places of Jerusalem!
For the LORD has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The LORD has made bare His holy arm
In the eyes of all the nations;
And all the ends of the earth shall see
The salvation of our God. NKJV™ (see Luke 8:1 also)
-14.) We Are Blind; But God Is Willing And Able To Heal Us
We are simply going to be amazed at the sheer power of the Word. We will shout from the
mountain tops in praise (Is 42:11). But, before we get to the finish of these things, we need to
continue to go through some issues. We must see and face the truth, the whole truth, and nothing
but the truth; He will help us, in the Word. Let’s continue:
John 9:7
7 “And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he
went and washed, and came back seeing.” NKJV™ (mental note; “Sent”)
If we read this entire passage of John 9, we end up seeing two distinct groups. Both groups
suffer a thing in common, though they are symbolically in different forms: blindness. But, the
difference between them is that one group does not understand that they are blind, and so their
sins remain on them. The other had no trouble understanding that he was really, really blind; and
Jesus had no problem with that at all. He was gracious, and healed the blind man. But, those
who refused the truth of their blindness, because of the shame of that reality, remained blind.
Be sure to understand why the physically blind man realized that he was indeed blind, and had
no problem “believing” it: it was visible, his condition. The teachers were spiritually blind, and
that is invisible, so it was very hard for them to believe it was true. This is vital for us today,
because the former example was a physical version prophetic play of a future event, which in this
day will be spiritual for the most part, and therefor, in and of itself, invisible to carnal eyes. We
must see what is visible, in the written Word, and believe it. And here we are, finally getting to
belief in the Word, who is Jesus, as a saving faith. Are we starting to get the picture of the whole
fabric of God’s plan?! Oh, man! What a Great God, and how Great Is His Word!
The promise of this prophetic play is this: there comes a day, which is right upon us this day,
that the Lord decides to have mercy, and heal our blindness. According to the prophetic play,
though, it will be those who realize that they are blind. Those who refuse to accept that truth,
though they really are spiritually blind, will not have remission of sins. This remission of sins
allows us to hear the words of our Lord, to be even able to choose life, and to justify God (See
Luke 7:29; Is 6:10).
According to this prophetic play in John 9, the stated purpose of this merciful gesture is the
revelation of the works of God, when the Word dawns to new life:
John 9:3
32
“Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be
revealed in him. NKJV™
This is a really big thing, this healing of our spiritual blindness. Many will see this great
miracle as a statement that God lives, in power. This is a picture of the Remnant, now able to see
through the power of the Resurrected Word; it is a prophecy.
We never have really been able to see, even from long ago; sight comes from the Lord’s gift
of kindness, and He has not given it to us:
Deut 29:4
4 Yet the LORD has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this
very day. NKJV™
That we have been blind is not always an easy thing to face; but we must face it, and God will
be okay with us. That is what this is promising, and what a great promise it really is. In our
blindness much has gone down over all these years. So, it is true that it can be a bit unnerving to
face this completely, especially in view of all that we will see when our eyes are really opened to
everything. We will be ashamed, and we should be to a degree; not to aggressively shame others
by dragging out their naked shame for all eyes to gaze upon. But, as we come to know and
understand that it is true, that the Word of God died for all of our sins, it should affect us. As we
also come to understand that the earth is destroyed because of our war with God, it will most
definitely shame us. All this is true; but we must not set our focus upon that view, to fear it.
Instead, our focus must be on the glory God will gain in all this, the clearing of His Holy Name,
which our blindness helped to shame across the earth. All of these sins are already paid for, long
ago, in a sacrifice only God could provide, with the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ (see also Ezekiel
16:63; 61).
Just like this blind man; who simply set his mind to submitting to whatever the Lord said to
do; the healing and the worship comes automatically. The man thoroughly knew his blindness.
He probably often suffered those who insisted he must be a sinner, judging God’s affliction on
him. In fact, the leaders, when confronting him, made this statement, in that great prophetic play:
John 9:34
34 They answered and said to him,"You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?"
And they cast him out.” NKJV™
So, while it is true that God will forget His anger at the carelessness disregard of the Word,
that has led to our blindness so long ago, it will still not be real easy for many. And the above
passage holds another reason many may balk: fear of the consequences from those who hold
power in the religions we are used to being in. The oppressive hold they have, and abuse, keeps
many from freely facing the truth, and getting healed. And, as long as our focus is on the horror
of our guilt, instead of the mercy of the Lord, and the wonder of Him, then they can cause us to
fear them so much that we won’t come out and get healed (see also Neh 6:13). It is okay to have
been blind; we just need to get it healed. We cannot if we refuse to accept this truth: since
spiritual “birth” we have been blind. It is written.
Before we leave this particular example, it would be good to make a couple of points about
these studies. If we were to cover all the items in such a prophetic play it might take up a whole
33
book by itself; that is how much can be opened up from such a complex display as the Lord did
with this one. Our book would be 10,000 pages long. Instead, we are to be trained to learn to
draw these things out for ourselves, in our own groups, portions at a time (see also Matt 13:32).
For example, that phrase “blind from birth” is a serious prophetic statement for many believers in
Jesus today. They did not sin, to go try to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior; but, due to the
unacceptable defilement we will be studying out, they were blind at birth. No one wants to
believe this one; and no would dare to teach such things. Many will rage; expect it, with gentle
kindness, and understanding. But, by the time we finish this study hopefully there will be
enough training in place that we can begin to see the full truth, and nothing but the truth, so that
we too can turn, and be healed. He wants to heal us; but we absolutely must come to find the
truth of our condition, and face it. And, it may be a little tough for certain groups, due to shame,
and pressures. This time, though, do not fear either: they may appear to be giant problems, but
do not fear them.
And, this next example was one just like that: he was for real doing all he could to live for
God, even to the point of killing others in His Name. His name was formerly Saul, who became
Paul of the New Testament; read about his encounter of the serious kind in Acts 9. In his
blindness he was actually living out a deadly lie. I am sure that it must have burdened him; but at
least he made it, a hope for us all.
-15.) Getting A Personal View:
What happened with me personally was quite similar to Paul, formerly Saul. I was really into
the Word, and thought I served God correctly. What was actually the truth was that I was
persecuting the Lord, and His flock. I was blind to it, though. I read the Word fervently, but
could not see the depth of what He was saying in it. But, one day, broken by His mighty hand in
my life, the scales began to fall off from my eyes (see Acts 9:18) I could hardly believe the light
that was coming out of the Scriptures, things I had never seen before, though written right before
my blind eyes. It took a long time in the wilderness of life, with the Lord helping me to better
understand His true ways. I am still a very weak man; but at least I can see a little better, and am
no longer killing His lambs, nor shaming His Name.
-16.) Defiled
There is another item we need to take a look at: we, the people of God, also became defiled,
declared unclean, through all this. It was written, long ago, that this would be the case:
Isa 64:6-12
6 But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away.
7 And there is no one who calls on Your name,
Who stirs himself up to take hold of You;
For You have hidden Your face from us,
34
And have consumed us because of our iniquities.
8 But now, O LORD,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.
9 Do not be furious, O LORD,
Nor remember iniquity forever;
Indeed, please look — we all are Your people!
10 Your holy cities are a wilderness,
Zion is a wilderness,
Jerusalem a desolation.
11 Our holy and beautiful temple,
Where our fathers praised You,
Is burned up with fire;
And all our pleasant things are laid waste.
12 Will You restrain Yourself because of these things, O LORD?
Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely? NKJV™
Also note the condition of the nation, city, and temple of God’s people, in this prophetic play:
Hag 2:14
14 “ Then Haggai answered and said,"'So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,' says
the LORD, 'and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean. NKJV™
The term unclean really means unacceptable to God. To be clean is to be acceptable to Him.
It was already written that we would end up in this condition; we must deal with it. And, of
course, He already has a plan. To understand it a bit better we will take a look at the example of
John the Baptist, who was sent to “make straight the way of the Lord.” But, before we get to that
extensive study, let’s finish this building understanding by considering further evidence that we
even are defiled; no religions teach that way; they don’t tell their congregations that they are
defiled, but keep on coming to services anyway. We will find the answers in Scriptures; they
have been waiting for us to come, and discover them for thousands of years.
-17.) Further Proof of Defilement
Jesus once spoke a parable, a very simple example, but extremely important:
Matt 7:15-20
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous
wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs
from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A
good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not
bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know
them. NKJV™
What does the fruit of Christendom, just one of the world’s religions, look like for the last
2,000 years? Does God now answer quickly, with discernable power, as He did when His people
were first set apart to Him, and therefore before they became defiled? Let’s take a look at one
35
example, which clearly shows how a Holy God reacts when the church is full of the true Spirit:
Acts 5:3-6
3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back
part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it
was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You
have not lied to men but to God."
5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all
those who heard these things. 6 And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out,
and buried him. NKJV™
When was the last time, in any Church or religion, did any of us see such things?! Maybe
God changed His ways with us, being such a nice Guy and all...! Needless to say I am not
serious: we all “know” God does not change (Mal 3:6). Therefore, it must have been the Church,
as the Spirit left because of all the false doctrines creeping in (see also Is 63:10; Eph 4:30).
Also consider this passage:
Matt 12:24-37
24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, "This fellow does not cast out demons except by
Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons."
25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is
brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan
casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast
out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your
judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come
upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first
binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 He who is not with Me is against
Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
31 "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy
against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of
Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven
him, either in this age or in the age to come.
33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a
tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For
out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of
his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day
of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be
condemned." NKJV™
But, the biggest fruit symbol that tells us what kind of tree religions are can be seen in the
condition of the world itself; they are the “fruit” of centuries of living within the shade of this
tree, feeding off it’s root (Dan 4:12). And the world is brought to the brink, and does not know
why. The remnant will learn this, and make the necessary changes, coming to the whole truth,
nothing but the truth.
Several other Scriptures prophetically tell us of this defilement, which include these:
36
Mic 2:10
10 "Arise and depart,
For this is not your rest;
Because it is defiled, it shall destroy,
Yes, with utter destruction. NKJV™
Isa 6:5;
5 “ So I said:
"Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The LORD of hosts." NKJV™ (see also Is 66:20)
Gen 3:23; “therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from
which he was taken. NKJV™ (see also Lev 13:46; )
Num 5:1-4
“And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 "Command the children of Israel that they put out of
the camp every leper, everyone who has a discharge, and whoever becomes defiled by a corpse. 3
You shall put out both male and female; you shall put them outside the camp, that they may not
defile their camps in the midst of which I dwell." 4 And the children of Israel did so, and put
them outside the camp; as the LORD spoke to Moses, so the children of Israel did. NKJV™
Matt 23:27; "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs
which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all
uncleanness. NKJV™
The ultimate statement from God as to our defiled condition is the fact found in the great
prophetic play some 2,000 years ago, as Christ prepared to be revealed: John the Baptist. He had
to come out of the wilderness, so as to not become unclean from contact with the defiled
condition of Jerusalem, and the entire people of God.
Isa 40:3-8
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
"Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
5 The glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
37
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
6 The voice said, "Cry out!"
And he said, "What shall I cry?"
"All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades,
Because the breath of the LORD blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever." NKJV™
Luke 3:3; “And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance
for the remission of sins,” NKJV™
Ex 12:19
19 For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened,
that same person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a
native of the land. NKJV™
Matt 16:12
12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the
doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. NKJV™
Ex 12:48
For no uncircumcised person shall eat it. NKJV™
Ezek 4:13
13 Then the LORD said, "So shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the
Gentiles, where I will drive them." NKJV™
Remember this passage; it comes from the mouth of the Lord. And, it notes that the message
being fed the people of God in the scattered places, where we now are, is defiled. We are
supposed to keep it pure, and holy; but He flatly notes, in this great prophetic play, that it had
become corrupted; which would then lead the world astray. What that really means is this: the
fruit of the world we so often criticize with vengeance, is really because of our false doctrines.
The world is astray because of us; they are the fruit of our ways. It does not mean they are
innocent; but we are the more guilty, knowing better, having already tasted of the Lord and His
ways. Not all that is perfectly clear from this one passage; but hopefully before we finish we will
all clearly see this point. But, as you may be able to reason, this is a hard one for many to deal
with, especially those who so fervently preached that Word, as though it could make people
acceptable to God. He does not accept what is defiled; rage if you wish. But, our correct
response should be to hear Him, and get it straightened out, so that we too would be accepted:
Gen 4:6-7
6 So the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If
38
you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its
desire is for you, but you should rule over it." NKJV™
The sad ending of the story of Cain is that he did not want to make those adjustments, and his
brother ended up dead, and he was seriously cursed. It saddens me to think that many will again
choose this path. I would hope not, but I expect much rage, all because they refuse to want that
truth, and the naked shame that comes with the cross. It can be a bit like this next prophetic
statement, about those who do finally go in and prophetically take the Kingdom.
Josh 5:4
4 And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt
who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come
out of Egypt. NKJV™
Those who came out before are all gone now. We must start fresh, and find what the Lord
expects from this point on. What painful little part must we cut off, to be circumcised of heart.
He wants to offer peace to the remnant, if they will accept His terms. It is an offer we must not
refuse this time. And we won’t; it is written! Not to our honor and glory; shame completely
covers us. It is all to His honor, and to His glory.
So, we ask ourselves again: do we trust the Lord? Do we, therefore, trust the Word?
-18 Catch Our Breath
As we begin this section of study, there is one thing that will continue to evolve through all
this: the absolute nature of God’s Word. What was written is what it was, is now, and always
will be; that is exactly why He is also called the Alpha and the Omega. And He is going to
glorify Himself in His Word.
So again we must ask: do we trust the Lord? Therefore, do we trust the Word?! Because, we
are really going to need to truly trust that He is willing and able to be kind, even when faced such
extreme guilt as we are going to be discovering is upon us. The ironic twist: that Word, the same
one we so soundly rejected throughout the history of mankind, is where we are going to have to
trust completely; that is where it is written that indeed He will be kind to us, and not at all what
our sins really deserve. (See also Ezra 9:13)
Another item to note is that this study is a bit extensive. It is designed to completely inform,
and not just a passing suggestion. There is a huge amount of evidence; it is not easy to sort
through this much information. In that regard, this study was originally intended for those who
will teach, and therefore need to be completely informed. Nonetheless, it is by no means off
limits to those only intent on being “simply students.” Any and all can feel comfortable in
tackling this extensive study; and maybe all will do just that. Yet, for those who are to come
there also needs be available a more concise version, somewhat condensed, settled into central
items of major concern for openers. That is also where regionally specific issues would be
addressed as well. That is the duty of those who teach what they are learning here.
As a precedent for this duality, we look to this passage:
Acts 15:28-29
28 “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these
39
necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things
strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.”
NKJV™
The priests on the other hand have this burden:
Mal 2:7-9
7 "For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge,
And people should seek the law from his mouth;
For he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts. NKJV™
It also needs to be mentioned just who the people of God are. As we go along in these studies
we will come to a more in depth development of this concept; but for now let this be said: the
people of God, the remnant left from this time of great distress, are captive, and scattered all over
the world. They are mixed in with all nations and creeds. They are Israel scattered, but
spiritually rather than in the flesh (Rom 9:8; Gal 3:27-29; Gal 4:29). They are a kingdom within
the kingdoms of the earth, but never able to actually mix with the nations of the world (Dan
2:43). Every nation and group will be represented in this remnant as they are revealed.
Isa 66:20
20 Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the LORD out of all nations, on
horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,"
says the LORD, "as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the
LORD. NKJV™
This is a spiritual nation, and thus not to be understood carnally, but rather spiritually. It is
very hard for us to see such things, since spiritual things have so long remained invisible to our
eyes:
Deut 29:4
4 Yet the LORD has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this
very day. NKJV™
As we fell into rebellion, and thus into defilement, we ended up being scattered. But, we
could not see it, since it is spiritual, and invisible to our very carnal eyes. But, it was always
written; and so now we can “see it,” if we can but read what is written right before our eyes.
This Remnant will now be enabled to do so as God relents, and finally begins breathing His True
Spirit into our dead lives, our hard hearts, so long without understanding (see Ezekiel 11:14-21).
So, let us continue to point out what was always in the Word.
19.) Implement Used To Assassinate Us
There was a system of approach used in our fall, a weapon of sorts in the hands of our
opponents. We can see it in various locations in the Bible, in those prophetic plays we have
begun to learn to understand. One such “play” occurred when Jesus was taken out into the
wilderness, and tempted (see Matt 4). Time after time Satan attempted to get Jesus to stumble,
and violate the laws and ways of God. But, the Lord, being the Example He Is, turned to what
was written, and kept Himself in check to it, not allowing Himself to violate the Word of God.
This has always been the weapon of our demise, ever since the beginning of this incredible
40
journey. That is because, way back in the beginning we somehow lost our faith and
understanding of just how amazing God’s Word really is. So, now He is making a spectacle of it
all. So, the format used by our opponents is to get us to violate one or more of God’s laws, so as
to bring us to death under it’s curse. Let’s consider a few examples; the Word is here to teach us,
guide us.
In Daniel there was one thing that was a constant, and in it he is also an example to us all; the
evil ones were always trying to get him killed, and they always used violations of the King’s laws
as the tool to do so (see Dan 2:12; 3:8-10; Dan 6:5; ). It is true that there are many studies in
such a book; but that one simple tactic is not all that complicated to comprehend; and it is the
method of war against God’s people.
It was also the method from the beginning, as seen in the Garden of Eden: Gen 3:1-8
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.
And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the
fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall
you touch it, lest you die.'"
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day
you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a
tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with
her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were
naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and
Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the
garden. NKJV™
Hiding in fear! Separation from the head is death. We need to be reconnected to our Head,
the Word of God, in the person of Jesus. (See also John 1:1)
Nehemiah, a prophetic play specifically for us this day, also notes that nothing in this scheme
of things has changed; it will be more of the same: Neh 6:13
13 “For this reason he was hired, that I should be afraid and act that way and sin, so that they
might have cause for an evil report, that they might reproach me.” NKJV™ [anything and
everything they can do to bring the law against us, that we might be eliminated.]
And, that was the entire ministry of our Prophetic Teacher, the Lord Himself. We are the
body of the Lord (1 Cor 12:27), so don’t be caught off guard by not expecting this kind of attack:
Matt 12:10
10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying,"Is it
lawful to heal on the Sabbath?" — that they might accuse Him.” NKJV™ (see also Matt 22:15-
21; Matt 26:4; Matt 26:65; Matt 27:42; Luke 6:7; Luke 11:54).
Consider also Esther, which settles into a major prophetic play about such a planned attack,
like no other, also specifically for today. There is even a date set forth in that prophecy of our
times (see also Esther 3:2).
That said, what then was the law, or laws, we violated to get the designation “unclean” laid
41
upon us categorically? The truth is, because of our contempt for the true ways of God, we simply
turn to any wind or doctrine we can find, or come up with; any except faithfully staying with His
Word. We can find it in Scriptures, because it was always written.
Ex 32:7-9
7 And the LORD said to Moses,"Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the
land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which
I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed
to it, and said,'This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!'" NKJV™
Gen 3:11-13
11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I
commanded you that you should not eat?"
12 Then the man said,"The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I
ate."
13 And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" NKJV™
The history of man is a history of cheap vows. We make our vows to be true to God, and then
quickly turn aside to the words and seductions of demons. We just do not esteem the Word of
our Husband Lord. We tend to stray to the neighbor, though he is a stranger; his words we will
live by, even though we are betrothed to Another.
Ezek 6:8-10
8 "Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the
nations, when you are scattered through the countries. 9 Then those of you who escape will
remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their
adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their
idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.
10 And they shall know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would bring this
calamity upon them." NKJV™ [And, it just crushes the heart of our Husband Lord.]
-20.) Loving God Is Keeping His Commands
Consider these two points Jesus made while here:
Mark 12:29-30
29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our
God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all
your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.”
NKJV™
And this passage with it:
John 14:21-24
21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves
Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and
not to the world?"
23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father
42
will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love
Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent
Me.” NKJV™
As the Lord had asked Eve, I ask us all, all the people of God: What have we done?!! We
have allowed other doctrines, those of demons, to win our favor, over the words of our own
Husband Lord; and He therefore knows we do not love Him as we should. So, take it to the next
level, and consider this telling scene:
John 21:17
17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved
because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?"
And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You."
Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep. NKJV™
It was the Lord Who wrote this play with Peter, and it needs to sink in to us this day. He
wants us to know the truth. The Lord knew right away, way back there in the Garden of Eden,
that we did not really love Him; all because we decided not to keep His command. This has
always been what it is about, and always will be. I don’t mean necessarily the knife edge letter of
the law; I mean the real heart of the law, which is to love God with all our being, and to love our
neighbors as ourselves. If He says something needs to be a certain way, then that is what we
need to realize, and desire it to be just as He says it must be. Saul did not have that total heart,
and it showed; look closely:
1 Sam 15:22-24
22 So Samuel said:
"Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
He also has rejected you from being king."
24 Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the
LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.” NKJV™
Be sure to notice the form of phrases used here by the Lord, in this telling prophetic play:
witchcraft and idolatry is what breaking the Word of God is equated to; is this not exactly what
we saw the Israelites doing at the foot of the Mountain, as they gave up waiting upon Moses to
return (Ex 32)? Needless to say how right the Lord was when He made this proclamation, as to
our waywardness:
Matt 12:39
39 “But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and
no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” NKJV™
The story of God’s people is a story of vows, and then adultery. And it is the story of the very
broken heart of our Lord. We are so very blind to it that we are busy dancing to the music at the
43
foot of the smoking Mountain: Ex 32:18
18 But he said:
"It is not the noise of the shout of victory,
Nor the noise of the cry of defeat,
But the sound of singing I hear." NKJV™
When the Lord put this huge prophetic play together He knew just what He was doing. And
not one letter will pass away until it is all done: Matt 5:18
18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no
means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” NKJV™ (see also Is 42:19-21)
-21.)Unheeded Warnings; another form of rejection of the Word
Often we were warned not to neglect our vows to Him, staying true to His ways, and not go
after the ways of others. But, Scriptures record our fall even before we did fall; they are
prophetic. Let’s look at a few examples of these thoughts:
Josh 24:16-22
16 So the people answered and said: "Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve
other gods; 17 for the LORD our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of
Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all
the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed. 18 And the LORD
drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also
will serve the LORD, for He is our God."
19 But Joshua said to the people,"You cannot serve the LORD, for He is a holy God. He is a
jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. 20 If you forsake the LORD
and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done
you good."
21 And the people said to Joshua, "No, but we will serve the LORD!"
22 So Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the
LORD for yourselves, to serve Him."
And they said, "We are witnesses!" NKJV™
Yet, quickly Israel lost it’s way before the Lord, bringing it down upon them:
Ezek 6:10
10 “And they shall know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would bring this
calamity upon them." NKJV™
By the time the Lord arrived, God had to make straight His way, sending John, so far from the
truth they had become (see also Mark 6:34). Israel was no longer even in control of themselves,
fully occupied by Rome. The leadership taught doctrines mixed, with “yeast.”
Even after the Lord Himself tended the flock, and showed them how to go out and do the
walk of discipleship, they still hid in fear as soon as He was gone:
John 20:19
“Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where
the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, ... NKJV™
44
Consider these also:
Acts 20:29-31
29 “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing
the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw
away the disciples after themselves. 31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did
not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.” NKJV™
And, finally the main event, the great warning we always reject, just like we did in the Garden
of Eden, and every other time our faith is tested:
Matt 26:31
31 “Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it
is written:
'I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' NKJV™
Matt 26:33-35
33 Peter answered and said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never
be made to stumble."
34 Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will
deny Me three times."
35 Peter said to Him, "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!"
And so said all the disciples.” NKJV™
We have always denied the Word of the Lord, even when being directly told. Then we heap
more vows on top of more vows, only to again and again turn away from Him. This is the story
of God’s people; it is written. Those who deny these truths are liars, and deceivers.(also Matt
16:23).
And, do not be any longer lulled to complacent sleep by Peter’s “noble” effort; this is exactly
the same thing that happened in the Garden. Our ancestors were warned about a tree. We
decided we knew better, that what was being told to us was not absolute. The Word of God is
Absolute. And, then Christ set about to prove exactly that point to us all, as He brought Peter,
and the whole church and people of God around the world to their knees, begging for mercy.
When it passes His lips, nothing in this universe can change it, except His mercy.
-22.) The Ultimate Sacrament; The Ultimate Defilement; A First Communion: Defiled
As we denied the Lord’s words, we were then scattered across the face of the earth. And,
while in those distant places we allowed impurities to slip into our doctrines (mixing the seed:
Dan 2:43, Matt 13), bringing us to a state of defilement before the Lord. There are many areas in
which we have become defiled, but one is the ultimate killer. Old Scripture prophesied about a
particular item that was to be a main event, to bring us down: the table.
Ps 69:22
22 “Let their table become a snare before them,
And their well-being a trap.” NKJV™
45
Communion is a much more serious, holy event than most understand. Paul detailed it this
way:
1 Cor 11:27-31
27 “Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will
be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat
of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and
drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this reason many are weak
and sick among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be
judged.” NKJV™
The term “sleep” here means dead. Even when Paul was still ministering people were already
falling in Communion, to the level of weakening, sickness, and even death. It is a very big deal,
and a major effort from the opponent to defile us. This single item was really all that was needed
to make the people of God totally defiled. Indeed, there are many other items that could be
discussed along with this one; but the point is that this is a very serious situation. The people of
God must deal with this uncleanness, and sanctify the body once again. Until that sanctification
is in place, none of our efforts will avail anything, and much harm can come from it.. (See also
Ezekiel 5:11; Amos 5:22-23;
Hag 2:14;
“ Then Haggai answered and said,"'So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,' says the
LORD, 'and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean. NKJV™)
1 Cor 10:20-22
20 “Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God,
and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord
and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons. 22 Or
do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?” NKJV™
We have mixed in the doctrines of demons and the world; in God’s terms that is what is
meant by the table of demons. Instead of eating His holy and pure bread, we are eating their
defiled bread. We became defiled; and Communion is offered without much thought as to our
defiled condition. This is true even though Communion is so very holy, of the highest order. To
mishandle this sacrament in an unholy manner is to bring sure spiritual death to us all in the long
run; and dead in the Spirit we are.
Consider this prophetic passage:
Mal 1:7
7 "You offer defiled food on My altar,
But say,
'In what way have we defiled You?'
By saying,
'The table of the LORD is contemptible.' NKJV™ (also see Is 28:8)
Heb 10:28-31
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has
trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was
sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said,
46
"Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people."
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. NKJV™
This is exactly what befell us; we allowed ourselves to make common what was extremely
holy, and it could not be overlooked. We fell into what was so well described in that passage
from 1 Cor 10; we failed to judge ourselves carefully enough, so that judgments came against us.
And, when we could clearly see the burning flames, we still did not repair our ways, nor consider
why these things were happening to us, even though we had former examples of exactly the same
thing, already written for our eyes to plainly see: Isa 42:25
25 Therefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger
And the strength of battle;
It has set him on fire all around,
Yet he did not know;
And it burned him,
Yet he did not take it to heart. NKJV™
We have always denied the Word of God, even when it is obvious to the entire world we are
fallen. Surely the horrors of our history cannot escape our eyes; but we turn blind eyes to them,
and callous hearts, because we do not want to have them pricked that much, to face the shame of
it head on. We are so blind to it all, even though God laid out these words right in front of our
eyes. We must return to them, and “see” what has happened.
Isa 8:20
20 “To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because
there is no light in them.” NKJV™ [This is where it is prophesied we will find our answers this
very day; this prophesy is about us, my friends. And it’s on us right now.]
Do we trust the Lord? Do we trust the Word?!
I will recount a story of a man I know, who suffered this mistake directly. At a young age his
mother decided it was time for him to go through the catechism classes and his first communion.
The young man tried to do the things his mother asked, and this was no exception. But, he had
no idea what he was doing, did not know God, and was just doing it all because his good mother
had asked him to.
The classes bounced off his head, meaningless; there was no real relationship for him with
God; so those words did not really touch his heart. He graduated from the class along with the
other students, and they had a big church service, for their first communion.
Up in front of at least 500 people they handed out the wafer first, and everything seemed to
being going okay. But, then the wine was not at all what he was expecting, being much stronger
than anything the young lad was familiar with: he gagged on it, and gasping, drew it deep into his
lungs. Coughing desperately in front of them all so shamed the young man that it broke him into
a laughing spell he could not control. Shame flooded through his veins; and he could not stop it,
so hideous was the display. It was not a pleasant moment for any, including his mother.
Life went on from that day; but the young man had no real understanding or interest in God:
he did not know God lived. His life began to slip into a heavy downward movement. Nothing
47
seemed to go right for that man. He had been born with a lot of talent; but everything he touched
seemed to be corrupted. By the end of the next twenty years he was so messed up that he was not
far from the grave of some tragic incident. Lost in heavy drugs he could not escape, quite
penniless, and unable to form any sort of sound family, he was desperate. Strong and virile when
younger, he could not understand how he could not escape the disaster his life had become. He
was so blown down that several times he only narrowly escaped death, as he careened totally out
of control through a walking dead form of life. And, with all his wherewithal he tried to escape;
but he was completely powerless to escape that downward spiral.
Then it all ended; almost 20 years to the day after that first communion. It was as though he
had been given a prison sentence, and that was the day of his release. The Lord came to him, and
commissioned him to serve; he was set apart to the Lord. It took years, and many battles to get
all the junk cleaned up; but the Lord stayed with him all the way, and really did a job on him. It
is stunning, the difference in the soul of that man. It is indeed a testimony of the real power of
God to change people’s lives.
As time has gone the entire event has been studied, and this is the conclusion we have come
to: indeed it was a sentence. That communion was to be held totally holy, and especially for a
man who was to be set apart to the Lord. That the young man did not know that was where he
was to go in life did not make him less innocent. He was severely rebuked in this life for his
careless disregard of this most holy of sacraments. In his ignorance, he had trampled underfoot
the precious blood of our Lord. Without truly knowing God he should have never even touched
that cup.
As we look over all this now, we realize that it is vital that we have learned one thing in all
this: Communion is so holy that no person should ever dream of touching it carelessly, in a
manner unacceptable to God. The whole purpose of the devastation in the life of that young man
was only to help him to deeply understand just how important our attitude about the holy really
is. And truly, fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. (See
also Daniel 4:1-3)
In view of the current defiled people of God, there really is no way anyone can touch that cup
and not be held guilty. There is not one person, priest or not, who did not become defiled (see
also Is 64:6) There is no way around what is clearly written, and so we must stop. Yet, even as
the Living Word brings us back to holiness, there really will be no need to return to Communion,
as we will find out. This is because the commission of Communion was to proclaim His death
until He comes; presumably Alive. As we will discover, that is what we are walking right into:
this day is on us.
There are well-intentioned people across the globe, who try to enter; they will only injure
themselves if they attempt to enter through a way that is defiled, unacceptable. It will not matter
that we did not know; we will be held guilty. What we must do first is to get things straightened
out with the Lord. Once He has found us acceptable in His sight, and only then, we can move
forward; carefully, with true fear and honor of our Holy Lord. Right now we have more things
we must first understand.
23.) The Defilement of Bloodguilt (Consider Ezekiel 7:20-27)
48
We, the remnant people of God, are ultimately guilty of bloodshed. It is impossible to believe
in Christ Jesus unto salvation without confessing He died for your sins. If we say we have no
sin, we are liars. The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23), yet the gift of God, in His kindness, is
eternal life in Christ Jesus. But, part of that confession is that we agree that the innocent Man
died in our stead, for our sins. The bottom line is this: our sins murdered Him. You probably do
not like how that sounds, but that is the truth. Our rebellion against God’s Word killed our Lord.
So, if we are to live by faith, then we also must proclaim we are bloodguilty; there is no way
around it. This is not just a thing for the Jews, as some have pushed for; it is for any person on
earth who would be saved. We cannot have salvation and deny killing the Lord. (See also John
3:16)
Rom 9:32-33
32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they
stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:
"Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense,
And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." NKJV™
But, as we saw in the play with Peter’s denial of Jesus, we do not even have that faith, not
stable at least. Any and all times that we would have our lives on the line, real shame or the
cross of true devotion, we feared that more than the fear of denying our Lord, with extremely rare
exception. Consider what He said before He was killed:
Luke 18:8
8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will
He really find faith on the earth?" NKJV™
People will be jumping up and down about statements like this, but consider this: a tree is
known by it’s fruit, and the history of the religions of the world, and especially the Church, is one
bloody mess. Nonbelievers conduct themselves better, just as the Romans handled the scene at
the crucifixion better than did the “people of God.” Or did you not notice, in that great prophetic
play, that not one “man of God” said one peep in behalf of the Lord, even as it was truly a
travesty of justice! Indeed, as we awaken out of this stupor of sleep, roosters crowing, our hands
dripping with blood, we will go out and cry in bitter shame. And it will be a very tough day for
us all when the Lord confronts us, and asks those three times if we even love Him at all.
Isa 53:8
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. NKJV™
So, these words that I am pointing out all over the Scriptures: does anyone believe them at all?
Do we even trust the Lord at all? Do we really trust the Word?! Pretty hard thoughts indeed.
{additional readings should include Rev 17 + 18; Rev 11:8; Ezekiel 7:23}
Just how bad was that rejection of the Word back in the Garden? To many it may not have
seemed like a huge thing. When Saul was confronted about his rejection of God’s Word, he
merely thought he had been doing it; he was kind of taken aback by the charge:
1 Sam 15:20
20 And Saul said to Samuel,"But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission
49
on which the LORD sent me, ...” NKJV™
Was the disposition in the Garden somewhat complacent like that? Do we not see how He
feels about it? When Christ came, He was the Word of God Incarnate, and the words He spoke
were the Words of God:
John 14:24
24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine
but the Father's who sent Me.” NKJV™ (see also Deut 18:18)
We, the people of God, despised that Word so much so that we just had Him killed. Not
much room for complacency now!! With Saul, God was so frustrated about “little” adjustments
to His commands that He had him removed as king. Hear His words:
1 Sam 15:10-11
11 "I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me,
and has not performed My commandments." NKJV™
We have pierced Him to the heart by adjusting His commands, carelessly rejecting His Word.
What a picture of lack of caring is shown here in this telling prophetic play.
There is a tremendous prophetic play which definitively reveals exactly where the Lord’s
heart is on all this, right now; it is a play of our rejection of that Word:
Ex 32:9-10
9 And the LORD said to Moses,"I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people!
10 Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume
them. And I will make of you a great nation." NKJV™
In this scene Moses represents the long awaited Lord, Who seems to be taking a long time to
come. With overlapping prophecies, and deep content, we could get into an extensive teaching
on this prophecy right here and now. But suffice it to say for this current discussion, the heart of
God burns hot against us, who have quickly turned away from His Words. And, it is not just
because it crushes His heart, even though that is enough of an issue. But, there are huge reasons
why He hates our rebellion, things we do not understand, far-reaching effects that often lead to
blood being shed, as in wars and strife of all sorts. Our careless disregard of His Word is what
causes the deaths of the innocent lambs around the world. Why do you think He came up with
the symbol of killing a lamb as a sin offering? Do you think He likes seeing us cut the heads off
lambs??!! He was actually hoping we would throw up at our sins; instead we brought Him tens
of thousands of dead lambs, like He was enjoying it:
1 Chron 29:21
21 And they made sacrifices to the LORD and offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the next
day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and
sacrifices in abundance for all Israel. NKJV™
Isa 1:11
11 "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?"
Says the LORD.
"I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle.
50
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
Or of lambs or goats. NKJV™
Isa 66:2-4
2 For all those things My hand has made,
And all those things exist,"
Says the LORD.
"But on this one will I look:
On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
And who trembles at My word.
3 "He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog's neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine's blood;
He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
Just as they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions,
And bring their fears on them;
Because, when I called, no one answered,
When I spoke they did not hear;
But they did evil before My eyes,
And chose that in which I do not delight." NKJV™
It is true that God has power over life and death, and that sacrifices are accepted by Him under
certain conditions and times, and they are not necessarily to be looked at as wrong. But, God
never does any of these things without real meaning, and our careless killing of lambs around the
world has always been a big statement He wants us to hear; but we have no ears to hear His
Words.
Blood is what spills when we cheaply disregard His Majestic Word. But, the Lord is going to
glorify Himself in that same Word we vehemently reject: Isa 42:21
“The LORD is well pleased for His righteousness' sake;
He will exalt the law and make it honorable.” NKJV™
In the meantime we should realize this fact; the entire land is defiled because of our rejection
of His Word, because brothers die when we do (Gen 4):
Num 35:33
33 So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement
can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.
NKJV™
-24.) Face The Truth Completely
In the prophetic playbook of the Scriptures we can see that there was an opportunity the first
time for Israel to trust God at His Word, and to go in and take the Kingdom; it is recorded in
51
Numbers 13. But, in that play we see that they were afraid, and were not willing to trust the
Lord’s Words, and so rebelled against His command to go in and take the land.
That prophetic play was actually foretelling of Israel’s rejection of the Lord, the Christ, as He
came to them years later. He called to them, but they would not be gathered (see Matt 23:37;
Esther 1:12). One week the Lord was riding as King into Jerusalem (see John 12:12-16); the
next week they were having Him crucified, vehemently rejecting the Word of God, even to
murder. So, now our rebellion has killed the King, and His glorious Blood drips from our hands.
We deny all this, of course, because as we saw with Peter, we are also cowards, afraid to be
dragged into it. So, we had the Romans do the killing, as though we would not be implicated
(John 18:31). Many now blame either the Jews or Pontius Pilot for the death of Jesus. But, the
truth is that the Blood of Christ has us painted into a spiritual corner, of sorts. If we deny our
hand in the death of Jesus by our iniquities, then we cannot be saved by His sacrifice paying for
them. This applies to any person on this earth who wants their sins forgiven. We cannot wash
our hands of His blood, and that is why we saw this prophetic play, personally directed by our
God:
Matt 27:24-25
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took
water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just
Person. You see to it."
25 And all the people answered and said,"His blood be on us and on our children." NKJV™
That is bad enough; but, now after centuries of waywardness we have added this to the
problem: we have counted His blood a common thing, even denying our own Lord vehemently,
mixing in various doctrines of demons, and all sorts of other defiling things drug into what
should have been a holy assembly. This day and age the religions of the world are anything but
holy. The fullness of God’s perfect truth is not found in any of them, while whole nations rise up
to kill or exterminate, some of the worse of whom claim to serve God. And He is hot as a
hornet, with legions of angels at the ready. We need peace with this Guy. He has provided a
way; not because we deserve anything but extermination from the face of this planet, but for His
Namesake: it is written. Gen 6:5-6
We must decide to seek and find His provision, and deal with all this, or we could end up
worse than did Israel, when they rejected the Lord’s Word almost 2,000 years ago. Shortly after
Christ suffered so, Rome wiped Israel off the map; they ceased to be a nation. And shortly
thereafter the world fell into the dark ages for centuries. I don’t want to say more than I should;
but I definitely fear this Living God enough to get real about this. We must really deal with this,
especially those avowed to the Lord; judgment begins with His people (see also Ezekiel 9).
As we learn to truly face the fullness of truth, the heat may go up in our lives; it happened to
the friends of Daniel. They were bound and thrown into that extremely hot furnace, as God was
making a point for us, even this day. Would we balk? Peter did. I’m not picking on him; it was
scarey; those guys were killers, and that is just tough to face. But, consider this before you balk:
good steel, the kind needed to make a good sword in spiritual symbolism, needs serious heat to
properly temper it. There is no such thing as good steel without that heat tempering it:
Isa 48:10
10 Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;
52
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. NKJV™
There may be times that the Lord allows that heat to be brought into our lives, and it can be so
hot that it wipes out most all we have, and for some even our very lives. But, no matter what,
God lives, and has a firm grip on the handle of that steel; and if He thrusts it back into the fire,
why would we want to turn away? It can be uncomfortable, but we must submit to His rule in
our lives, and this may be a big part of it in days to come. It is for our benefit when it does come,
and not for our harm; it makes us better men before Him, and potentially other things He alone
understands. (Dan 3:27; Gen 45:5)
God is holy, and can not live in the presence of the unholy. My own life was so full of unholy
that it has taken extreme heat to burn away those bonds and crud. It has nearly destroyed my
whole being and life. But, I really want to be there, and am glad that He was willing to labor so
hard over me, and get the crud off. When I was in the middle of that furnace I could not
understand it. I wanted all those days of blessings; but instead destruction. I am here now,
though, and glad for it. We must anticipate the possibility of at least some, and maybe a lot; we
don’t know precisely. What we do know is that His hand is on the handle; if we want it to be.
So, do we trust the Lord? Then we need to trust the Word to rule our lives, and leave the choices
to Him. As we discover more of the truth of all that has transpired, we may come to realize we
really need the sanitizing effects of pure heat, even though it can be quite uncomfortable. He
knows what we need. He knows what He needs. And, really this is about Him, and not us; His
Name is cast down. Trust Him. Trust the Word.
-25.) God Provided The Way; It Is In The Word We Rejected, The Cornerstone
In a hugely important “play” long ago, the stage was set for our situation today. It was written
so that we could better understand what we have such a hard time understanding, so dull we have
become. That play was when Abraham was asked to offer his only son. In the play we can learn
quite a bit about the ways of God, and what will be coming down today, as this whole story
unfolds. After all, He wrote it, to talk to us; can we hear what He says? (Read it in Gen 22)
One point that we can easily see is that God can ask some pretty heavy things in this walk of
faith. It doesn’t get much bigger than to ask for the life of an only son. And, Abraham did not
have the advantage of the view from this end; it was a raw and extreme request. But, he had one
thing down very well: he trusted the Lord to keep His promise. So, he knew that somehow He
would take care of things, even if Isaac ended up dying on that altar. He trusted God at His
Word. And, that trust was not contingent upon Isaac surviving. It was pure and simple: God will
do what He said He will do.
Another major point to note is that then God provided the sacrifice. Until Abraham saw that
ram caught in the bushes he was totally walking on faith, and he never balked one bit. I am quite
sure Isaac would have been killed if that ram had not been provided. But, it was provided, by the
Lord.
Jesus came in part to show us how this faith walk is to be done. What He did was to read the
Word, find what was in it that He had to do, and then to do it; that is what we have to do now.
And, this passage was one of the key ones He found, so that He would know what was going to
53
be. He knew He was that Lamb, and that He was going to be sacrificed. There are many huge
items to see flying by here; but this is the point I am making: Christ found the information
already written in the Word; therefore He knew what would be, and how to deal with it. He also
knew what to ask of His Father, since He always worked in unison with that same Word, not
contrary to it.
One important facet in this great drama God is playing out before the eyes of the entire
universe is that Jesus also found the promise of the resurrection on the third day, as played out by
Jonah:
Matt 12:39-40
39 But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and
no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days
and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three
nights in the heart of the earth. NKJV™
He found it, and so was able to face such a horror of death, trusting God’s Word that He
would be raised from the dead to fulfill all that was also promised in that Word about Him. It
was just like Abraham, who also trusted God, that He would somehow be able to even defeat
death in order to bring all the promised nations and offspring through his son Isaac. He trusted
God’s Word. Now it’s our turn.
The situation has not changed from when we balked the first time it was offered to us to do, at
the time of His first coming. This is clearly seen in the prophetic plays, one of the greatest of
which is Jonah. In that particular prophecy we can see that when Jonah was sent the first time he
refused God’s command, and fled. Does that sound a little familiar, with all we have been
studying? The second chance, when he returned, the command was the same. And, where did
we find this information: was it not already provided in His Word?! And what does it say Jonah
did when he was brought back: he simply returned to the commands of the Word:
Jonah 3:1
1 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, NKJV™
Jonah 3:3
3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. NKJV™
We can look at all the action, and be distracted from this key point: Jonah came back to the
Word of the Lord, and did what He said this time. It had been a long hard road, through the deep
pit; and he had to receive the mercy of God, Who heard his tearful prayers from that pit. But, in
the end it is as simple as this: return to the Word of God, and do what we are told to do. It is the
only sign this wicked and adulterous generation is going to see. It is written.
Jesus, Who is the Word of God, is our portion; and we will find our way hidden within the
Word, already written long ago. Just as Christ Himself, born into a servant’s body (see
Philippians 2:7) learned to read the Word (Luke 2:41-50), and find the Way already provided for,
so we must now read it, and find all the answers we need to deal with our current situation. From
that play with Jonah we see that we come back to the same command we got the first time;
nothing changed.
Already we have discovered that we refused the command of the Lord, in several other
studies. This display of Jonah merely confirms this, and sheds yet another angle and view to the
full situation we now face. Indeed, we will find ourselves on a very special roadway, which we
54
will call the Road to Emmaus. Take a moment and read it, in Luke 24:13-35.
This single play is one of the greatest hopes we will ever see in Scriptures. It even promises
that the Lord Himself will pull along side of us and help us understand these hidden Scriptures.
But, as we see this story unfold remember this: in the play, with Jesus playing His part on earth,
as a Man of God, he had Scriptures He drew on, to find the way He must go. None of those were
New Testament writings, since they had not yet been recorded. He got His Great Victory using
that Old Word, which many have long since discarded. And, as He is walking with these
disciples on that fateful road to Emmaus, it was those ancient passages He was leading them
through. It is nice for our immature minds that Luke has this scene recorded, to get us going
along this road. But, the real action came down long before, in those old prophecies and laws.
Isaiah was right: Isa 8:20
20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because
there is no light in them. NKJV™
There would be no New Testament if not provided for in the Old.
This is where we will find what God hid so long ago, as a provision for us this day. As we
search this all out, we are covered first and foremost by the protective covering of the sacrifice of
the Lamb of God, Jesus the Christ. That holy blood keeps us as we search. But, we must get our
eyes opened, and discover what we must do next. Jonah went out into Nineveh, preaching the
impending day of the Lord. Is this what we must do, some may ask? We will find that there are
a lot of angles to consider, and that we will need to look at all the Word, as did Christ with those
disciples along that most incredible road. It is the Promised Highway (Is 11:16; Is 35:8), walking
with the Resurrected Word, in His final, spiritual form.
Editor’s note: before we go on, we must note that this in no way means we must come back
under the curse of the letter of the carnal law for salvation; there is no salvation in works like
that. We will live by faith; but, our Lord and Savior will ask us to trust the Word; we must obey
Him, if we believe in Him. That is why Christ came; to provide an atonement needed to return
us to the Word; there is no other way to turn away the wrath of God:
Deut 30:1-6
1 "Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse
which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the LORD
your God drives you, 2 and you return to the LORD your God and obey His voice, according to
all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3
that the LORD your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and
gather you again from all the nations where the LORD your God has scattered you. 4 If any of
you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the LORD your God will gather
you, and from there He will bring you. 5 Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land
which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you
more than your fathers. 6 And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of
your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you
may live. NKJV™
Be sure to note this: this passage is a spiritual statement, and not the old carnal law. That can
be plainly seen in one simple observation: verse 6 flatly says that God will circumcise our hearts,
55
not our foreskins. The old law was only a picture, a symbolic study of the spiritual law we will
walk in. We need to grow up, and mature in our understanding of how our God talks.
We must begin to believe what is written. We cannot argue forever with God. If the Word
says that we have all become defiled, then we need to believe that we are defiled, even though we
have nothing else to go on. That same Word says that we are blind too, so how could we expect
to see that we are defiled, other than what is written?! If the Word tells us that after all these
years we are not a circumcised generation, then that is what it is, and we must do something
about it. It is true that God’s true circumcision is of the heart, and that the foreskin is only a
symbolic statement, designed to help us comprehend what His intent really is. So, we cannot fall
back under the knife of the law, but rather move forward to the Spirit of the laws and precepts of
God, laws of the heart. But, the Word is still one hundred percent accurate, and our only guide.
We must come to trust the Word. It is the Gift of God to us who are willing to believe in it.
26.)Make Straight The Way Of The Lord; His Provision For Our Defilement
We were again trapped behind a wall dividing us from our Savior, the Lord God. Our
defilement has placed us outside the assembly; in fact, there are none left inside who could
minister properly, cleanly, acceptably before the Lord on our behalf, exactly the same scenario
some 2000 years ago, when the Lord first came to His people. But, just like then, God has
provided a way, acceptable to Him, by which we can begin the process of restoration, a way back
to peace with our God; we, the people of God, are at war with our own Lord God. We
desperately need peace with Him. And this day He has decided to have mercy, and lay out terms
for that peace. They are His terms, and they are not adjustable.
We will get into all this in more detail. But, first we need to understand that because of our
defilement God has prepared someone to make straight the way of the Lord, and to deal with it.
Back the first time, the first opportunity to take the Kingdom, when Christ made the first offer,
God already had in place that one sent ahead: John the Baptist.
Mal 4:5-6
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
6 And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."NKJV™
Isa 40:3
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
"Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God. NKJV™
One observation we should see now is that this voice is crying out in the wilderness; that is,
56
not within the congregation of the Lord: outside the city. The reason is that the “city” has
become defiled, and thus no sanctification can come from the hands of those trying to minister
there. This is one of the terms of God, not man. He wrote the prophetic plays, and He will not
adjust them to fit our opinions or attitudes. It does not matter how much we rage; He will not
change this. Consider this passage:
Num 19:22
22 Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the person who touches it shall be
unclean until evening.'" NKJV™ (also consider this one:)
Heb 13:10-14
10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 For the
bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are
burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His
own blood, suffered outside the gate. 13 Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp,
bearing His reproach. 14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.
NKJV™
We will need to discuss further this particular term of God’s for peace, this coming out. But,
for now we need to see the format God has chosen for His terms; He will not change this, and we
need to turn to the Word to find it, and trust it. It is the only way He will accept. And a major
part of the “play” is that we have become defiled, and need to be sanctified, receive His mercy, in
temporary remission of sins. We cannot approach God defiled:
Eph 5:25-27
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might
present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that
she should be holy and without blemish. NKJV™
We have discussed many items of concern so far, in our fallen walk with the Lord over the
centuries. It is a condition somewhat like that former time for Israel, when the Lord came to
them in their fallen condition. And, to prepare for that moment there was provided one to make
straight the way before Him. To do that, he used certain discussions and teaching with the
people whom God brought out to him at the Jordan (read Matt 3; Luke 3; John 1:6-38). He
began with a sanctification process involving baptism for the temporary remission of sins. This
is an important step, since it is necessary to cool God’s wrath at us before we can deal with the
other issues (see also Matt 3:15). We deserve to die; but He will accept a temporary restraint, as
we deal with all that must be faced. John’s teachings went on to include a real repentance, with
steady works to show it, as they awaited the One to Come, and that final baptism.
This outline is still valid, even if we must deal with a whole lot of new issues. We still must
begin with what is acceptable to God for our temporary (Heb 9:9) sanctification, so that we can
correctly move forward. Cain did not deal with that parameter, and get his offering acceptable;
and he ended up killing his brother (Gen 4). This is actually what we have done; and now we are
back to face it, and get this straightened out. As we saw promised in that passage above from
Deut 30, the main desire God has is that His people would return to Him, in the Word. And, this
is the first find in the Word we need to move on: we must come to believe in His good intent for
us, that He really does want us to come to Him. It is written; we need to believe it, and thus
57
desire to seek Him.
This is, as we have already studied, exactly opposite the lie we took hold of in the Garden,
when we did not believe He desired good for us. That is the tone written into that play; read it
for yourself. We must systematically destroy these lies, and take full hold of the truth of God.
This one is the first step: He intends good for us, even though we yet again denied His Word, and
in countless ways, continually, and even to this very day, until this very discussion.
As we search the Word for His acceptable form to deal with sanctification, we also realize
that the situation is a bit different, now that many of us have accepted the Lord, and then denied
Him so vehemently. Before, we maybe did not consider ourselves to be murderers; but now it is
becoming clearer that we have indeed killed our Holy Brother, and maybe even more, as we will
study. This was not so obviously the case for many of those coming out to John that first time.
So, while there are a lot of similarities to the former things, there also will be a few adjustments
expected, and to be found in the Word. One of those finds would include a provision for this, in
the form of a new covenant. It was necessary, because we could not stand under the old way, in
our own strengths, which were not strengths at all. This is the great promise, with the Holy
Spirit, that will change our lives in power, His power, for His Namesake, to His Glory.
-27.)New Covenant Mentioned
Even though we fell, and became defiled, as we remain today, even captive in it all, He will
have mercy, and provide a way for us, and even already has: it is written!
Ezek 16:60-63
60 "Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will
establish an everlasting covenant with you. 61 Then you will remember your ways and be
ashamed, when you receive your older and your younger sisters; for I will give them to you for
daughters, but not because of My covenant with you. 62 And I will establish My covenant with
you. Then you shall know that I am the LORD, 63 that you may remember and be ashamed, and
never open your mouth anymore because of your shame, when I provide you an atonement for all
you have done," says the Lord GOD.'" NKJV™
Jer 31:31-33
31 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the
house of Israel and with the house of Judah — 32 not according to the covenant that I made with
their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My
covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD. 33 But this is the
covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My
law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My
people. NKJV™
Clearly stated we are to have new and everlasting covenant this time. A part of that covenant
we realize was the atonement our Lord made with His Self-sacrifice. We need to find out what
that all means; it will be found in the Word. But, take note of this passage:
58
Ezek 16:53
53 "When I bring back their captives, the captives of Sodom and her daughters, and the captives
of Samaria and her daughters, then I will also bring back the captives of your captivity among
them,” NKJV™
The timing of this promised new covenant is at the gathering of God’s scattered people from
all over the earth. That could not have been at the time of Christ, since He clearly noted that was
a time of scattering, not gathering (Matt 26:31; Eccl 3:1-8). Also notice from Jeremiah 31
passage that it states that He will put His Law in our minds, and write it on our hearts, and that
He would be our God, and we His people. This has not been accomplished yet; not on this earth.
Let’s look at this passage, and see what is hidden in it: Isa 49:8-9
8 Thus says the LORD:
"In an acceptable time I have heard You,
And in the day of salvation I have helped You;
I will preserve You and give You
As a covenant to the people,
To restore the earth,
To cause them to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That You may say to the prisoners, 'Go forth,'
To those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves.' NKJV™
As we have already studied, we are imprisoned in a current darkness, and everything is
desolation. There is a glimmer here, then after it goes out, one over there. We are being barely
sustained, so as to not be completely erased; but, we still completely fulfill the defeated, fully
captive descriptions spoken of so clearly. Therefore this prophecy is yet to be completely
fulfilled. So, this promise certainly will apply, as we eagerly await this promised One. But, also
notice that it states that there is an acceptable time, when He will hear. Many prayers, spanning
many years, have been set before the Lord. But, if the time was not yet right, then He would not
have done it. He awaits the “acceptable time.” (See also Rev 6:11; Dan 9:2)
Hebrews 8 discusses the promise of this new covenant, as though it was happening; look
around at the world, and tell me it is so. No, instead, what we saw was what happened back in
the wilderness, as recorded in Numbers 14:39-45, and recounted by Moses here:
Deut 1:41-45
41 "Then you answered and said to me,'We have sinned against the LORD; we will go up and
fight, just as the LORD our God commanded us.' And when everyone of you had girded on his
weapons of war, you were ready to go up into the mountain.
42 "And the LORD said to me, 'Tell them,"Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; lest
you be defeated before your enemies."' 43 So I spoke to you; yet you would not listen, but
rebelled against the command of the LORD, and presumptuously went up into the mountain. 44
And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do,
and drove you back from Seir to Hormah. 45 Then you returned and wept before the LORD, but
the LORD would not listen to your voice nor give ear to you. NKJV™
The Lord told us we would be scattered; we just cannot see spiritual things like this. But, we
surely should have been able to tell, if we could have rightly judged the dismal fruit all these
centuries. And we may yet cry more about all this; but here we are now, and preparing to dawn
59
into a great day, a new day; will we again refuse to enter this rest?
Heb 3:7-15
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
"Today, if you will hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.
10 Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, 'They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways.'
11 So I swore in My wrath,
'They shall not enter My rest.'"
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the
living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be
hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold
the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said:
"Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." NKJV™ [see also Heb 12:25-29]
The only thing the writer of Hebrews could not write here was what was sealed against
everyone: certain Scriptures could not be opened. So, he did not record that the time of Jesus
was fulfilling that former rebellion itself, and that we would not enter back then; not fully.
Hebrews also did not record that it would therefore become prophetic to us this day. It is still
100 % accurate, and the question is still correctly before us: this day is that new day, called
“Today.” Do not harden your hearts to this incredible thing God is doing to greatly glorify His
Great Name, in the Word. Enter it.
Now, to those of you who insist that you can turn to that sacrifice 2,000 years ago, and claim
to be defended under it’s protection, and God has no issues to deal with in us, I say this: make
sure you are correct. It is your soul, and you will answer for it. I believe we have systematically
trampled under foot the Blood of Christ, and allowed all sorts of defilement to go down. That is
what the Word already says would happen. If we deny this, then we again deny the Word of
God, and remain under that curse (see also John 9:41). Instead, God has already set forth a day
of mercy, even in spite of our continued failures, and even betrayals of Him. That is what is
written, and there is a reason for it. It goes all the way back into the Garden of Eden, and that we
decided that we would not die if we tossed aside the Word of God. We made clear that we did
not really need to heed God’s commands; in fact, such restraints were actually inhibiting our full
nature, to be like God. We did not realize that God’s Word is our very life (see also Matt 4:4).
This day, we will only live if we turn to that same Word; it is our only chance. If we refuse, we
will surely die. That is how He is going to glorify Himself in His Word; it is our only hope.
And, we must actually ask Him for His kindness in it, as we will see.
28.) More About Making Straight The Way Of The Lord
60
We must now understand that the one who is coming to prepare His way will have to have his
lips first sanctified by the Lord, because we have all become unclean together: Isa 64:6
6 But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away. NKJV™
Filthy rags...! Have an enlightened leader explain what is meant by this, the next time you
think your works are acceptable before the Holy One Of Israel. Fortunately, the Word has
provided for this problem for His servant, who is sent; otherwise none of would have any hope.
It is so amazing how totally provided for everything is. We are completely covered by His Word,
in every facet of this journey we are on:
Isa 6:5-8
5 So I said:
"Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The LORD of hosts."
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with
the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said:
"Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin purged."
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
"Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?"
Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." NKJV™
The Lord sends His servant, whether for the curses like this one in Is 6, or for the blessing, as
the one to come will be:
Isa 52:7
7 How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
"Your God reigns!" NKJV™
This is the Lord’s provision, and it is not open to a vote. He will bring the remnant forward,
no less than in that prophetic play of 2000 years ago, as well as all the way back to Noah. This
provided servant will come crying in the wilderness, “Make straight the way of the Lord.” He
will have the assigned terms of peace. God already has it all worked out; we just need to do it,
61
clean up our lives, and prepare ourselves to meet the Lord, to glorify God in it all:
Luke 7:29-30
29 And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been
baptized with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for
themselves, not having been baptized by him. NKJV™
Are you going to reject yet again the will of God for yourselves?! Whatever you choose, this
is what the sent servant will cry:
Isa 40:6-8
6 The voice said, "Cry out!"
And he said, "What shall I cry?"
"All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades,
Because the breath of the LORD blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever." NKJV™
Be sure to note the condition of the people in the prophecy: they are blown down; but it will be
okay, because it is written that it will be. It’s all about the Word of God, my friends. Was then,
is now, and ever will be, Amen.
4.) Power Of The Word Absolute
(good thing, since we now need to have faith in it to save us!)
If all these things are really true, what we are seeing really is a magnificent display of God’s
power in His Word: no man has had to power to defeat it’s purpose. Christ told Peter to his face,
before it all went down, in one evening. No matter how determined Peter was, he was going to
do what the Word was telling him. And, neither could the Church change the Word, nor all the
people of the world, all accounted as a drop in a bucket (Is 40:15).
One of the most amazing things about that scene with Peter is our flat denial of what it really
says, even as the Lord made the point of that absolute power. If you need to read it yet again, to
really bring it into focus, then look at these sections: Matt 26:31-35; 69-75. What we saw
demonstrated by the Lord Himself was precisely this: Scriptures cannot be broken, and He even
gave an up close and personal demonstration for them. But, we did not get it; because, what He
said, which He proved could be not altered, was that the flock was going to be scattered, and that
is the truth. It is absolute; the true alive Church could not have survived with this power against
it. And for sure the fruit if the Church, as history shows, was quite defiled. They tried to take the
Kingdom, just as the Hebrews did back in the wilderness. But, they did not get it completed, and
men died trying. All those men back there that tried were defeated, overrun by forces of evil. It
was not at all like the scene when Joshua led Israel in to take the real kingdom, the earthly
symbolic form in his prophetic play. They mostly defeated those forces, and took the whole land
as promised. It just blows my mind: Christ said we would be scattered; He proved the power of
what He says is what it will be; and we still insist that we took the Kingdom, and the Church is
62
alive and well. It is impossible, because we were powerless to stop the power of the Word. And,
the Church has been teaching the lie that we are the “Living Kingdom” ever since, or at the very
least for some, that we are the “alive in waiting” for the “promised kingdom.”
Indeed, this should be our response:
Isa 66:2
2 For all those things My hand has made,
And all those things exist,"
Says the LORD.
"But on this one will I look:
On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
And who trembles at My word.” NKJV™
And, this ought to make us have a bit of fear: we have rebelled against the commands of our
God time and again, and the land is filled with the byproduct of our ways and war with Him,
drenched in blood, the Name of the Lord is a curse word because of us, and we have been
declared by the Word as unclean. And the Word is absolutely correct; but the question is do we
believe this? Most do not, and do not fear the judgments impending. Consider this example, set
in Scriptures for us to find this day, and fear:
Dan 6:11-20
11 Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
12 And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king's decree: "Have you not signed
a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king,
shall be cast into the den of lions?"
The king answered and said, "The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians,
which does not alter."
13 So they answered and said before the king, "That Daniel, who is one of the captives from
Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but
makes his petition three times a day."
14 And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his
heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him. 15
Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, "Know, O king, that it is the law of the
Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed."
16 So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions.
But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver
you." 17 Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with
his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might
not be changed.
18 Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought
before him. Also his sleep went from him. 19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and
went in haste to the den of lions. 20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting
voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your
God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?" NKJV™
The reason this passage is even in Scriptures is for us to understand the absolute nature of the
powerful words we now face. A decree signed by God cannot be defeated by man, and those
63
lions can cut us down in a flash, even though our King may deeply love us. We already know we
have an accuser always contending with the Lord to have us destroyed; but now we are covered
in filth, and God could judge against us. Realize the absolute accuracy of the Word in this next
passage; and note that it does not say that we are clean, but rather covered in filthy garments:
Zech 3:3
3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. NKJV™
And consider this passage:
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking
whom he may devour. NKJV™
If we are again complacent about these words, we will soon enough find that they have real
teeth, and it can cost us dearly.
Ah, but there is another side to the absolute nature of God’s Word. Though we have never
been faithful, and there are countless prophetic plays to prove this point, so that we should have
no doubt, and be quaking in our shoes at this very moment, there is hope in that absolute nature
of God’s mighty Word: it is written, that He will have mercy on us, even though we deserve
terrible judgment. Of course, there will be some items which He will expect, already provided
for us to find and deal with, all inside the Word. We have seen that when John the Baptist came
the first time there were two groups: those who submitted to the plan of God, and those who
would not. It is ours to find, and submit to, in that Resurrected Word. And we will be safe in
that Word, just the same as in the Ark. This will greatly glorify the Name of the Lord, in all the
earth, no less than did those great displays way back in the promising prophetic play of Israel
being delivered out of the bondage of Egypt, as well as other scenarios throughout Scriptures.
And, it is a very good thing that before all this began He included the mercy part, because by
now we surely must see that the world is preparing to move into a severe shaking; it is written:
Hag 2:1-9
1 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the LORD came by
Haggai the prophet, saying: 2 "Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,
and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying:
3'Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In
comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing? 4 Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,' says
the LORD; 'and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you
people of the land,' says the LORD, 'and work; for I am with you,' says the LORD of hosts.
5'According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit
remains among you; do not fear!'
6 "For thus says the LORD of hosts:'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth,
the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All
Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the LORD of hosts. 8'The silver is Mine, and
the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts. 9'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than
the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of
hosts." NKJV™
Be sure to note the discussion about the glory of the former temple. This is exactly the same
64
picture as the First Century Church. And the promise being made here, with the help of His
Spirit, is that the glory of the latter temple shall be greater that the former; and, we will finally
have peace with our God. What a great promise; and He has all set up how He is going to do it,
right here, in this magnificent Word, always written before our eyes.
It is also interesting to note in this prophecy that God is calling for the remnant to come back
to work; and it is before the earth shakes. It is justice that God would shake all nations severely,
and that will be quite evident before the final end: He will be justified. And there will be no
excuse, for those trying to hide behind one, such as the fallen nature of the Church:
Rev 6:15-17
15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men,
every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16
and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the
throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is
able to stand?" NKJV™
All the world is in on this one; but the remnant must get to work; and the Lord will be with
them in power, for the first time in a very long time, like this anyway. All people who know God
lives have seen His presence in their lives at various moments. But, this is not even close to the
fullness of God, so restrained is His hand due to our sins. It has been for us exactly like it was
with Israel all those days they wandered: God was there, even visible in pillars of fire and smoke;
but they were consuming themselves fighting Him. It appears that is about to change for the
remnant, as they awaken, and come out to these opening truths. (See also John 8:31-32)
One of the most central truths will shamefully humble this remnant group. That will be due to
the truth of the condition of the earth. In God’s view, we are the problem. The earth is the fruit,
and it is really messed up. The people of God, and especially the Church, constantly wag their
fingers at the world, warning of God’s wrath. But, the reason the fruit is the way it is totally rests
on the shoulders of the people of God, and especially the Church; we did not do what we were
supposed to do:
Luke 23:27-31
27 And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and
lamented Him. 28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me,
but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For indeed the days are coming in which they
will say, 'Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!' 30
Then they will begin 'to say to the mountains, "Fall on us!" and to the hills, "Cover us!"' 31 For
if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?" NKJV™ (also Mal 2:7-
9)
We killed the Lord; and then we spent the last two thousand years perverting truth, to lead the
world astray. The world is in ruins because of us; and that is how God sees it. While these
statements are general, they apply a whole lot more to each and every one of us than any of us
really would like to believe. Every time I hear a person take the Name of the Lord in vain, I
know in my heart I helped to cause that condition all over the earth:
Rom 2:24
24 For "the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is written.
NKJV™
65
It is clearly written that He wants His people to know their shame, to comprehend what we
have done, and to face it:
Ezek 16:63
63 that you may remember and be ashamed, and never open your mouth anymore because of
your shame, when I provide you an atonement for all you have done," says the Lord GOD.'"
NKJV™
Hos 5:15
15 I will return again to My place
Till they acknowledge their offense.
Then they will seek My face;
In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me." NKJV™
The way it is laid out here is a bit of a balance; on the one hand He expects us to face the
truth, and even confess it fully. At the same time, He wants us to trust His full intent to be kind
to us anyway, even though we are so shamefully fallen. And it will shut our mouths, so that
when we come out to work, as called again to do, we will do it quietly, in humbled submission
and thankfulness that we have even lived through this; many did not. And it won’t be for us; it
will be for the honor of His Name. And all of this simply because it is written.
It will be for some of us somewhat like what happened to David (read 2 Sam 11 + 12). So
truly in a deep relationship with the Lord, how was it that he fell so severely? He was king of
God’s people, and also priest. Yet, somehow he ended up slaughtering many of his own
bodyguards to cover up an adulterous relationship that resulted in a bastard child. Once exposed,
his response was to appeal to God for any and all kindness He would allow; though he did end up
losing the child anyway. But, even though his shame was overwhelming (see Ps 51), after God
had made His decision, David cleaned up, and after worshiping the Lord, even ate. In essence,
he went back to work before the Lord; no doubt a deeply changed man.
And then an incredible thing; God allowed him a son, even through Bathsheba, to be heir to
the kingdom of peace. Right there it is written, for us to plainly see: this is a promise of
kindness, my friends. This is just so far from the ways of man that it defies imagination; this is
the difference between God and man, so vividly portrayed. And, it is a prophetic play for us, that
though we are totally shamed we can still hope in the kindness of the Lord. Even more so: we
are expected to walk out in that faith in the Word. Knowing we are guilty, even to death many
times over, but that we will be treated extremely kindly anyway, it will deeply touch our souls. It
brings the faith to step into death, knowing we have life, even to the fullest, even tamped down
and overflowing, in spite of our struggles. It is impossible; but it is already written, and it is time
to begin to believe the in Word; not just for the full insights of our present captive and fallen
condition, but also for the hope only in a God like He is. No matter what the world thinks, nor
how shamefully fallen we are, there is nothing anyone can do to stop this. It is the absolute
power of God’s Word, an incredible display for all to see, for His honor and glory. All these
years that the Word seemed so dead and without power, and it is preparing to change, big time.
It should be remembered, all of what God is saying in these important prophetic plays; we
must not let ourselves forget yet again. In the case of David and Bathsheba, remember this:
through very real murder, and shame on the Name of the Lord, David ended up with that son on
the throne. It is a picture with a history we need to not forget, so that if Satan again comes to
66
suggest otherwise, in the heat of our tests and pain, that we know and remember our God is good,
wise, just and all the attributes that make Him Who He Is. It is not just kindness; it is also a
statement, for us to sincerely consider. He has an agenda, to glorify His Great Name. Our name
is dirt. We must always remember these things, even as joy overwhelming will flood out of our
hearts.
Still, do we trust the Lord? Do we trust the Word.
-30.) Promise of the Spirit; Nehemiah Opens: Road To Emmaus; Return to Him, Now That He
Comes To Us
As we have seen, there is also a promise of kindness in the Word, not just impending
judgment. Though we may spend some serious time studying some of the New Testament
prophesies Jesus played out personally, none of them came about apart from the Old Testament.
This is to the glory of God, that we return to those powerful passages, and find all that this story
holds, and this particular passage is one of great hope for this very day; let’s take one more look
at it:
Hag 2:1-9
In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai
the prophet, saying: 2 "Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to
Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying: 3'Who is
left among you who saw this temple in its former glory?
Addressed to the remnant people, with the priests and leaders, one big thing to note in this
prophecy/promise is what we have slowly been making ourselves aware of: the people of God,
which is the Temple of God, are in ruins. Any who have read of the magnitude of the first
century church may have often wondered what happened to that power, or if it was even really
there at all? It was already written that we would be blown down, scattered, and come to a point
of total powerlessness. And, at that point, in steps God, with His great promises already
recorded, right here, in His Word.
It is true that this pivotal passage does mention that fearsome judgment to come, in which the
entire earth will shake at the rebuke of the Lamb of God. But, it also contains another great
promise, one we so desperately need. We need His help to even understand any of what has
67
happened, and where we are going now, how to do it, and the provisions for it all. We are
powerless, and at just the right time He is going to turn His great power on. He is with us on
this: it is written. It will be over our meek persons severely humbled, that the power of the Holy
Spirit will radiate. His glory, not ours.
There have been many groups proclaiming power of the Spirit, from time to time. I would not
dare to judge all to be false, having personally witnessed great things at the finger of the Living
God. But, I am also just as sure that the vast majority of those displays are not true, and are a
very serious violation of the ways of a very Holy God. When this goes down in true power, then
these false displays will become quite evident. The peoples of the world have come to laugh at
the often foolish behavior of the proclaimed people of God; and it really shames His Great Name.
I too have been partner to this terrible crime, as have countless others, much of the time not even
realizing their error. But, what God is saying here in verse 3 is today’s body could be counted as
nothing in comparison to what was long ago, or what is coming soon: even more incredible than
the first century church (see John 14:12). Then we will all know the real Spirit; it will stun all of
us, and shame many.
The reason for this dead body is that we killed the Living Word, so that God pulled back His
full power, as we have been learning. Many times through the years people would turn their
hearts over to God, and find wonder and very real truth in His Word, in His precepts and ways.
But, when real power was needed we so often were completely defeated, with many, many
horrible scenes throughout the years. We were not living the real victories we kept proclaiming;
we would say the words, but they did not really do that much; not like the First Century Church.
But, now we understand that this had to be, because we denied the Word, even to the cross. And,
it has been our story since the Garden of Eden. The Word has been dead all these eons because
we killed it in the Person of Christ, and keep killing it every chance we get, through denying it
from the beginning. God was right: we would surely die, and dying is all we have been doing;
are we even now again tell God that we will surely not die; that we are alive in the Spirit. This is
not the power Christ promised at all, what we see with the people of God today. And, now we
see that is what we should have expected, because it was always written. We have just been
living a lie about it all these years. That is why Jesus noted that those former symbols, the Jews
wandering in the wilderness were dropping dead, even though they were eating the bread of
heaven. And, this has been the case since the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, when we denied
the Word of God for that of another. But, this is the day it is going to change: it is written.
Though God does want us to come to know and understand the truth of all that has happened,
and it will shame us, that is not God’s ultimate desire. He is a covering God (Gen 3:21; 9:20-
23). But, because we have spent so long covering up our sins, not facing the truth, we must go
through a little time of exposure, to finally face the truth of it. Yet, the real reason for that
exposure is to break us enough that we will cast away any and all things which separate us from
our holy Lord God (Is 2:20), because what He desires most is that we come back to Him to stay.
He seeks those who desire to be with Him, with all our hearts, minds bodies and souls, which is
the ultimate form of worship (John 4:23, Luke 10:39; Luke 23:42).
So, one of the first things we must find in the searches of the Word is what form of this will
be acceptable to Him Who waits. One example of this is seen in the great prophetic play of
68
Nehemiah, a play of us today:
Neh 1:5-11
5 And I said: "I pray, LORD God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your
covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, 6 please let
Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I
pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins
of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father's house and I have
sinned. 7 We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the
statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses. 8 Remember, I pray,
the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying,'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter
you among the nations; 9 but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them,
though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from
there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.' 10 Now
these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and
by Your strong hand. 11 O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your
servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant
prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man." NKJV™
In this prayer we see everything we have been discussing, from the promise of kindness in
which we can now hope, to the true confessing of our sins throughout the generations, to the
statement we have just made: it is God’s desire for us that we return to Him in truth, dealing with
His Word. I also note that this prayer was acceptable; we know this because Nehemiah was
successful in all he asked for before that king he was going to face. We are judged by our words
(Matt 12:37), and so they must be properly ordered. This prayer is especially important as an
example, a template of sorts, since it is within the prophecy provided by God for us today, as we
prepare to rebuild the devastated people of God.
In verse 4 of Nehemiah 1 we see that he had been at prayer and fasting for many days,
indicating that many confessions and supplications were most likely laid before the Lord. This is
where it becomes important to consider multiple passages, to gain a fuller view of the real heart
of our Lord. Some of those areas of concern we have already spent some time with, such as our
consistent rejection of His Word {even after vehement vows of faithfulness}, defilement,
trampling the blood of Christ, and even murder. There is another item we will spend more time
later on, as laid out in a view of the crucifixion: being a thief before God. This one has several
facets; but suffice it to say we have stolen what is rightfully due our Great King, especially the
honor due His Name, as well as our tithes and labors, our faithfulness, etc.
Yet, each person should do their own search of the Word, to also find what they may for
themselves. Many things apply to us all, and many things hit a particular chord in each of us
differently. But, we find those issues covered in the Scriptures. And, we all will give answer to
the Lord, as well as give glory to His Name in this. He will glorify His Name as He reestablishes
His Word in the earth. This effort at searching out of the Word is a beginning step of that
process. We will return to the Word for these answers; and that will glorify Him.
Taking another look at Nehemiah 1, we also can see another part of this whole picture coming
into focus before our eyes; it is found at the beginning of the chapter: Neh 1:1-3
1 “It came to pass in the month of Chislev, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the citadel,
69
2 that Hanani one of my brethren came with men from Judah; and I asked them concerning the
Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. 3 And they
said to me, "The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great
distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with
fire." NKJV™
We have spent extensive study now, just so that we can even understand what is being said
right here, in a simple line. We are the survivors, even if blown down (broken down walls) and
powerless; we are in great reproach. This is both those still in the old Israel, and those coming
back from captivity. And the gates are burned with fire; that is, the entrance to the Kingdom is
no longer functional. What powerful symbolism; so concise, and accurate. It was always right
here before our eyes; but it has been sealed all this time, so that we were not able to understand.
But, this day is the acceptable time, and now these passages are coming back to life, thanks to
God’s provision of those men who came and alerted Nehemiah to the problem; it was written.
What was the correct, accepted response from the man of God upon coming to understand
what our condition is: he began making supplications to God, based on truth, in hope of the
kindness of God, already promised in the Word. He knew the absolute nature of the Word, and
He knew God’s desire to restore us, in spite of our history of rejection of His Word: it was
written. Consider this passage: Zech 12:10
10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace
and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as
one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” NKJV™
One thing that will be vital in this effort; we must understand the truth; our prayers cannot be
valid if we do not even believe these truths. That is the reason for this huge effort in explaining
all this, for days of study. We must see it, believe it completely, before we bring these prayers
for deliverance; if we don’t really believe it, we will get nowhere. And there are two sides of this
view of truth: we are completely and shamefully defiled and defeated, captive for our rebellion
against Him, through the continual killing of His Word; and that God is merciful, and the only
One we can hope in to get straightened out. We must believe both of these issues.
It is now time for us to see the whole truth, nothing but the truth, and then turn to God for
help. We will find all that information already provided for in Scriptures. And, we can also
count on the Holy Spirit to help us with the Word:
John 14:26
26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you
all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” NKJV™
Consider this Prophetic passage, where the Resurrected Word walks along with the disciples,
as they considered all that had transpired; they are like you and me, right now. Centered on the
Crucifixion of Christ, it is the great Prophetic play of the Road to Emmaus:
Luke 24:25
25 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets
have spoken! NKJV™
Luke 24:27
27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the
things concerning Himself. NKJV™
70
Oh, my friends, do you still not see what the Great Prophet Jesus was playing out here?! This
is a Prophetic play. The Author of our Salvation, Who is also the Director (Lord), also happens
to be the Star. And He is the Word of God, here in a resurrected form. We are having difficulty
recognizing Him in this new, resurrected form He is coming in, especially because our eyes are
being restrained. But, this is the day, remnant of the Lord, when those restraints are being lifted,
as we break open the Bread of Life (John 6:35) in the power of God’s Spirit:
Luke 24:30-35
30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it,
and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from
their sight.
32 And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the
road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned
to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying,
"The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" 35 And they told about the things that
had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.” NKJV™
We must read these passages, with all these symbols, as Prophecies; they are for our
understanding today. Consider this next passage in view of that prophecy acted out on the Road
to Emmaus:
John 14:15-18
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give
you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the
world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He
dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
NKJV™
We see again, written there for our instruction, the issue of keeping His commands.
Evidently, this Spirit filled Word, alive with new life for us, is linked to the keeping of His
commands. It never has changed; only now, this age, we are finally coming back to that
doorway, to do what we did not do the first time. This time, He will help us to get it done; we
must believe this, and hope in it.
Be sure to note what they said, as they returned to the others from their experience with the
Lord: He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread. What does that Prophetic
symbol mean? We have already studied that one, and we now know it means the Word of God,
our manna from heaven, but now alive, risen indeed; we will live by every Word of God. It is
our hope; it is where the Lord will reveal Himself, with the power of the Spirit. Let’s get on with
the breaking open of the Word of Light, this great dawning day.
-31.) The sign of Jonah begins to unfold
We need to glance again at the prophetic play of Jonah. But, the sign of Jonah is very
involved, and quite important. So, eventually we will need to come back to it for a more
extensive examination.
For now we need to turn to that book of Jonah, and consider something that cannot escape
71
attention, if we can just open our eyes. It is not a long book; take a moment to read it through.
Many were the studies, in many different denominations, that noted that the crucifixion and
resurrection of Christ fulfilled the prophecy of Jonah. But, consider carefully the words out of
the Lord’s own mouth:
Luke 11:29-32
29 “And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, "This is an evil
generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.
30 For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.
31 The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and
condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and
indeed a greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with
this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater
than Jonah is here. NKJV™
What is so interesting about this statement is that He calls His own version a sign, a symbol.
The death and resurrection of our Lord was a symbol; that is what He said. What was it a symbol
of, but the prophetic promise of kindness in the resurrection we have already discussed. But,
there is another angle to this, which finalizes any confusion about this prophecy, and that it could
not have ended there, as though fully fulfilled by the Lord. Simply said, Jesus went when sent;
He did all that was asked by the Father, even to the cross (John 19:30). Jonah did not go when
told; he refused the command of God the first time. There is little correlation between Jesus and
Jonah, other than they are both signs to our rebellious, adulterous generations, and they have that
raising up again after “3 days.” For the Prophet, that was a physical, very short three days, for
the physical, bodily display of His Prophetic action. Standing around those scenes, we will find
out, were the sons of Jonah, and the start of a long journey to fulfill that version, our version:
those who rejected the Word of God the first time. It was a journey that would take a prophetic
version of “three days,” as we will see.
There was also another seemingly small correlation between the two prophecies: Jesus knew
that ancient prophetic play gave Him the promise of the resurrection He was in hope of, because
it was written. He needed that promise, because He was preparing to step through the passage of
death itself. And, the referral to such a prophecy for His Way is itself a prophetic example
intended for us to see, for our particular road.
This is a very important observation to make, since it is the example set for us to follow, by
the mouth of the Lord. Whatever is written we need to trust, and believe in enough to step into.
Jesus stepped into the cross, knowing this passage. He even said so, right there. And, sure
enough, He was raised from the dead. Do we look at the Word with such faith? I have already
witnessed the answer to this question. Well, that is about to change. We will begin to walk out
faith in the Word in a whole new way, this day and age; all because even that was promised in
these prophetic plays, in the Word. So, remember this observation as we continue to expose this
prophecy for what it really says, as well as what it does not say. Because it is not written that the
prophecy of Jonah would be completed in Jesus’ death and resurrection.
This is not the case for some other prophesies about the Lord. For instance, you or I could
never be that perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world; that honor is His alone; and it will not be
done again. Besides, we are defiled, and not acceptable for that honor. We may get cleaned up
72
one day, and go on to serve; but we will never hold that particular honor. But, this one with
Jonah was always intended to foretell of us, and our denial of the commands of God through
Jesus. We were told, and yet we did not believe, even though we were told ahead of it, and even
with this very example. Just like Peter: when he was being told right to his face, he still he
refused to believe the Lord. He really did not believe he was going down for the count against
his Lord; and neither did we. And, now we are in the pit because of rejecting His Word:
Deut 18:19
19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will
require it of him. NKJV™
But, this is also an even broader prophecy than that limited time frame. Since the Garden of
Eden this has been the case: we have been at continual war with God, always contending with
Him, denying His Word and warnings. But, that all can change, according to that ancient
prophetic play of Jonah; the second time he goes as commanded. We need to look more closely
at some of the symbols used in the language God employs in this very important play. We need
to find what matters to God in all this? As we now have studied, we can already bet it has
something major to do with His Word.
As we noted, the Lord said it was going to be a sign like the sign of Jonah, a prophetic symbol
of things to come; and the only one we were to get. For the last 2,000 years the world has seen
lots of stormy times. If the Church and the religions of the world had been able to truly take the
truth to the world, and not the perversion of truth they did take, then would the ship have been
battered so severely? We can also see grave losses of life, and much damage to the earth itself.
And one of our crimes against the Lord stands above the rest: the shame on His Holy Name. The
people of His Name have brought tremendous shame on Him, though He did no wrong.
There is another angle to that prophetic sign of Jonah that will be crucial in our understanding,
as we prepare our hearts to pray and cry out to the Lord: when Jonah refused the Word of the
Lord, how many people in Nineveh repented and were saved into the Lord? None are recorded at
all in this prophetic example. This is a soul bloodguilt, which needs to be further studied out, as
we will see later. This is the blood of unsaved souls, perishing because we did not obey the
Word.
Furthermore, what happens when a soul discovers the fullness of the God of kindness, as He
blasts their lives full of light? They greatly glorify God, with magnificent praises and adoration.
We have very really stolen this honor due His great Name, and the praise in that spirit that is so
pleasing to Him. We have robbed God of this honor and praise He is rightly due, simply because
we rejected His Word.
This is not conjecture, or interpretation: this is absolute fact, doctrine directly stated from the
mouth of God Himself: these are His agendas, and we must deal with them, in spite of all we said
before, all we thought we knew about Him. We knew virtually nothing. It is a scene that is a
letter perfect resemblance of that one 2000 years ago, the first time we had the opportunity, the
failed time. And, the time since that day, in the pit of that whale, has been a tough time for us
all; darkness, and not the light we have been saying to the whole world. God wrote this; do we
still deny these truths??!! Will we yet again reject the Word of God?
This scene is overwhelmingly shameful, all that we have done, and not done; and now it is all
73
being nakedly exposed in these ancient prophecies, as well as even the naked Body of our Lord
on the cross. Yet, at the same time it is all the hope we could ever ask for, because it also
promises that there will come a day when the remnant will be back, at that door, and will obey
this time. That is what it says in Jonah, and we must believe it now. Just as powerful as the
words Jesus spoke to Peter, that he was then powerless to stop, even when told before hand; so is
the power of His promise now prophesied when the Resurrected Word came back to Peter, and
gave Him that assignment again: we can do this! The promise is that we will do this. Not by
any power we have; we are beat, and that is all there is to it. But, it will be by the power of the
Word of God, and His mighty promise in the resurrection of that Word, back to full life. This is
the glorification of His Great Name, in His mighty Word.
It is that same Word those men believed was still dead, walking out that huge prophecy along
that fateful road to Emmaus,. They did not recognize that it was the Word, alive, walking with
them, in power:
Luke 24:25-26
25 “Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets
have spoken!
26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" NKJV™
This is the only sign we will be getting. It is the only one we need. Nothing can stop this
powerful display of God. We are going to need to remember this fact as we move on down this
road of finding out; the opponent has done a lot of preparation against this day, which won’t
make it any easier for us. Just remember always: nothing can stop it; it is written.
This brings us to the central point of this direction we are headed, and that we change our
focus from the dead man, to the resurrected One. If the death and resurrection of Jesus was a
sign like that of Jonah, then we need to look at that crucial event in a like manner as we look at
Jonah. In Jonah we all see a physical play being acted out, with all the action of rebellion, rebuke
of God, submission, and then the response of the people to the message, as well as that of Jonah
himself. That is all the physical action; and we call it prophetic. Well, if that is how we view the
action of Jonah, as an acting out prophecy, then that is also how we are to view the “action” of
Jesus, as He did a physical play, a Prophetic movement. We have studied and understood some
of Jonah, and the prophecy. But, what about the prophecy of the death and resurrection of Jesus?
He said it was a sign, like Jonah. What does that mean, and to whom does it apply? And it is the
only sign we will get, this death and resurrection of the Word, which is finally beginning to make
sense. That same Word we thought so little of before is everything to us now. Just as powerful
as the sign of Jonah, that He will bring us back, and send us again, successfully, and the promise
to which we now turn in hope, we also see the power of the promise to raise the Word back to
true life, in that great Prophetic play with Jesus: it is our hope. Without the Resurrection of the
Word we will never, ever be able to survive; it is our life. But, not just for hope at the end of
time; we are talking hope now, in power:
John 11:23-26
23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
24 Martha said to Him,"I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may
74
die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe
this?" NKJV™
Martha was trying to get the Lord to bring her brother into resurrected life, right then and
there. This is far more than just the promise of the there after; this is the promise of the here and
now; and this is a very powerful promise indeed, of great hope.
-32.) The Resurrected Word, And The Honor Of His Great Name
This is the dawn of the great Resurrection. The Word has been dead all these years, since we
killed Him in total rejection. And, I don’t mean just at the Cross; that was a prophetic display, of
both history and future events. This goes all the way back to the Garden, when we first killed
Him by rejecting His Word, for that of another. And ever since then we have always ended up
rejecting His Word, and killed every prophet we could who dared to try to stop our madness. But
this fact has been sealed against our understanding all these years, so that we could not turn, and
be healed.
To understand the prophetic days Christ was dead in the tomb, consider this passage:
2 Peter 3:8
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day. NKJV™
And, we are now in the third millennium since the birth of Christ. It is true that His time in
death touched three days, fulfilling that portion of the prophecy of Jonah. But, it was actually
less than two full days: late in the day Friday would have placed it late in the day Sunday. But
He was raised early, at dawn. If the Resurrection of the Word does not happen soon, we will
have passed that time. But, it has, the seal is broken, because it is now time. That stone is being
rolled away, and the Word is raising to true life.
John 21:15
15 “So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you
love Me more than these?"
He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You."
He said to him, "Feed My lambs." NKJV™
The crucifixion of Christ did happen, and so did His mighty resurrection three short days later.
His actual body was raised back to life. But, by the testimony of His own mouth (Rev 19:10) He
made it clear it was a sign, a prophecy, and that sign was tied directly to the style of prophetic
sign as that of Jonah. Jonah, my friends, is a story about a man who did not do the spoken
command of God the first time around. Jonah, my friends, is the story of us; we are the sons of
Jonah. And the command to Jonah, once the whale had vomited him out on the shore, was the
same one he had gotten in the first place. So, when the Resurrected Word came back to Peter,
who is the picture of the Church who denied the Word of the Lord vehemently, the command
remained the same: feed His sheep. It is a Prophetic play.
Man, oh man, oh man!!! All this time these passages have been buried behind the sealed
stone of that tomb, and no man could move it. It was sealed by God, just like the way to paradise
was so long ago (symbolic play!) (Gen 3:24). The tree of life is the Word of God, personified in
75
the person of Jesus Christ. And, we the undeserving remnant of God’s people, are going to be
brought to new life in the power of this great display, the Resurrection of the Word, promised in
that same Word all these years. As God rolls away the stone of our hardened hearts that
Promised Word is going to be written on our reborn hearts of flesh by the power of that same
Spirit breathing life back into the body of Jesus in the play. Such amazing, accurate symbols!
No wonder our Prophetic God wrote the laws of Moses on stone; He has always known our
hearts have been so hard towards His commands! He is the One Who chose the symbol of stone,
for the tablets.
But here we are, and that phenomenal Word is bringing the resurrected promise of newness of
life; it always was the tree of eternal life (Matt 4:4; John 11:25-26). Not the dead word; that is
what we did to it: we murdered it, totally rejecting the truth of it, to our total shame. But Jesus
believed in the good promise of kindness as to Jonah, even though He was buried in the sins if
the entire world, more than any other man. And, He was raised according to that hoped in
promise, to new life, those shameful sins left in the grave behind Him. And, in this promised
newness of life, we will justify God, agreeing with His Word, and doing His commands, through
that same Spirit of Truth, in His Word abiding in our new hearts. We are extremely guilty, to our
shame (unlike the Lord). But, that promise of kindness and mercy from the Lord is just as much
a hope available to us as it was for Him. That has always been promised in the Word. Our King
Personally came to us, and Prophetically played that out; that was also by the power of that same
Word. Consider this passage:
Ezek 11:14-21
14 “Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 15 "Son of man, your brethren, your
relatives, your countrymen, and all the house of Israel in its entirety, are those about whom the
inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, 'Get far away from the LORD; this land has been given to us
as a possession.' 16 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Although I have cast them far off
among the Gentiles, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I shall be a little
sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone."' 17 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord
GOD:"I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been
scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel."' 18 And they will go there, and they will take
away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there. 19 Then I will give them one
heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give
them a heart of flesh, 20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them;
and they shall be My people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for those whose hearts follow the
desire for their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their deeds on their
own heads," says the Lord GOD. NKJV™
There are some pretty important things said in this passage. There are some who will be
raised up in this powerful display, stronger than I am, who will be going over all this in detail,
and will bring out all this; I am not that good at it. But, do notice verse 16, that notes that He had
promised to be “a little sanctuary” in that time of being scattered. This is what we have already
learned, like that pillar of fire and smoke with Israel in the wilderness prophetic play. But, it was
never intended to be the major power of God we will see coming this day, and from now on.
Also note that in the end it is all about walking in His statutes and judgments. It has always been
about His Word, ever since we rejected it in the Garden; and now He is going to gain great glory
76
in this powerful Resurrection of the Word to new life. It is true that the form is no longer the
carnal, legal edge we cut ourselves on before. Instead, it is the final spiritual form, which our
carnal eyes have a hard time recognizing. Consider this prophetic play:
John 21:3-7
3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing."
They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the
boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on
the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus said to them, "Children,
have you any food?"
They answered Him, "No."
6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So
they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" NKJV™
This is going to be a display of great power by God. The Word alive in Power is not
something seen on this earth much in the last 2,000 years. These men had spent considerable
time with the Word before He had been transformed into this resurrected state, but they did not
recognize Him. This is Jesus, Prophetically acting out the Spiritual form of the Word, the final
form. Through that Spirit filled Word we can see our Lord within the Word. God is Spirit, and
we will learn to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Yet notice how the Prophecy
indicates John comes to know it is the Lord; observation of that power display. He could deduce
the nearly invisible display of power, being a little better connected in the Spirit than the general
Church, as played out in the person of Peter. That would make sense, being that John played out
one who more deeply loved the Lord (possibly a Prophetic symbol of the Word here also), and
was also loved by the Lord. If you slow down and really think about this, my friends, this has
always been about loving the Word of God, rather than despising it. And now it is going to be
raised to it’s full power and life. First notice how these disciples had caught nothing all night,
fishing with the dead Word. But, that dawning Word, on the shores of Galilee, commanded; and
they obeyed: they got the command from the Word, and obeyed it. And the power stunned those
men; they could not even handle it, so great was the result.
If you wonder if this “Resurrected Word” will really be different, powerful enough to even see
any difference at all, then I ask you this: when Jonah came back and obeyed that Word, how
many people of Nineveh turned from their sins, and heeded the Word of God? All of them. This
is a profound statement of prophecy, and a very real validation of this promise of that power.
Just how far-reaching this will be is hard to say: but the fact remains that Jonah’s prophecy
actually records that power; and the Lord already promised that this sign was for us. We are a
wicked and adulterous generation, this is true: but the promise is of this incredible change is
coming. The dead Word, that one which could not really heal the world, is being raised to true
life, and full of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some will say that it was simply because Jonah did not go, and not because of a different
power. Well my friends, is Jonah on us or not? Either we agree that the prophecy is on us, or we
yet again deny it. And if it is, I remind all that while Jonah was in that pit none of the
Ninevehites came either. And the reason we have already studied: we have been feeding them
defiled food, and thus they have not been acceptable to the Lord. It does not matter all our
77
proclamations, this is what is written. This is what it is.
This also is fully backed by those disciples who fished all night (note the term: not light), and
caught nothing. That is what it says. Does that mean that nowhere on earth was one man saved
since the time of Christ. Several were at the outset, as recorded in Scriptures. My guess is that
through the years there have been a few. Yet, consider what the Lord had to say in this passage:
Luke 4:25-30
25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was
shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but
to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was
a widow . 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them
was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian."
28 So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 and
rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their
city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. 30 Then passing through the midst
of them, He went His way. NKJV™
I am just pointing at these passages; it is your Lord Who is doing the talking. Will we never
listen? He promises that some will; He will bring the Remnant.
Keep this in mind, all the way down the road, that we need to consider all the Word, and
search out what our Lord has set there for us to find, and do. With the right heart, and His kind
help, we will be able to find and do all He has already put in the Word to find. But, we must love
Him, as alive in the Word. That is why the Lord asked Peter those three times if he loved Him.
It really stressed out Peter a little bit; we must expect this may not be totally simple. But, it is not
ultimately for us, but rather for His name sake. As Peter was being shamefully asked, do you
think he may have loathed himself for what he had done? Consider this ancient prophecy:
Ezek 36:29b-32
29b “I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. 30 And I will
multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear
the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will
loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations. 32 Not for your
sake do I do this," says the Lord GOD, "let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for
your own ways, O house of Israel!" NKJV™
This is one concept we will be spending more time on, as we lay out ideas on properly
ordering ourselves to approach the Lord. He has an agenda with several angles to consider; this
issue of our shameful past is just one of them. He says flat out that He expects us to know our
shame; and the fullness of it is a bit involved, as we will see later. But, at this moment our focus
needs to be this: even though our sin is so extreme, this promise of hope is still there for us, if we
just believe, and return to Him, in the Word.
It is true that one great day in paradise there will no longer be any remembrance of our former
ways; it is written, a very wonderful promise of kindness. But, it is also written that we will pass
through a few difficulties on the way to that great promised day. We must expect that to be the
case, and any who teach differently are liars. Jesus was not a liar:
78
Acts 9:16
16 “For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake." NKJV™ (also
see Matt 10:25). [ We will come to the study of the cross a little later. Just do not fear doing all
our Lord lays out for us to do in the Word.]
So now we are beginning to form the picture of the plan of God, to glorify His Great Name, in
the Resurrection of the Word, the hope of us all we celebrate unknowingly every spring, as we
commemorate His Resurrection. Our hope is in the power of that Word Resurrected, as it brings
true life into our dead beings. What a promise the Road to Emmaus was, as that Resurrected
Word opened the Scriptures to those two seekers. This is what it is all about, my friends. There
is the Person of Jesus; but He is coming alive in the Word; it is what He is about, and that is what
He was telling those guys. That is what He is telling us.
Luke 24:27
27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the
things concerning Himself. NKJV™
In the beginning God spoke; but we did not regard His Word, even though in that Word is life.
The Prophetic display of Jesus, as He suffered the crucifixion, was a full frontal display of what
God suffered in the Garden, which we never, never realized. None of us knew that it killed our
life connection to the Living Word. He said it, that we would die; but we did not really
understand it. We died in the spirit when we rejected His Word; our heart hardened. And, now
He is finishing up this incredible power display of the whole event. We are finally coming home
to that true, resurrected life in the Word. There was no way we could ever have done it before; it
was dead after we killed it, all the way back in the Garden. A little shelter here and there; but not
this extreme power we are preparing to witness.
We still have quite a bit of information to cover, though. We will consider some other
passages, laying in wait for us this great day of discovery. Excuse me: the Word is not there,
laying dead in the tomb any longer. He is very much so resurrected to powerful life, as we are
discovering right now. How else could the light dawn out of the Word as it so powerfully is this
day?! We should have expected this former period, all the years the Word has been blocked
against us, since it was promised in His Word. But, nobody cold read it.
Isa 29:11
11 The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men
deliver to one who is literate, saying, "Read this , please."
And he says, "I cannot, for it is sealed." NKJV™
This day, the seal is broken; the curse is being lifted, to the glory and honor of God, amen.
